Rosalie sat next to Barney in their usual booth at the bar, Marshall and Lily sat across from them and Ted sat in the seat. Ted had just told them how he was still in love with Robin and wanted to be with her.  It had been a couple weeks since prom and a couple weeks that Rosalie and Barney had been dating exclusively, though they hadn't told any of their friends that.

"So, what do you think?" Ted asked them.

"Robin, again? Ted, the universe clearly does not want you and Robin to be together. Don't piss off the universe." Barney told him, "the universe will slap you."

"Don't you think the universe has more important things to worry about than my dating life?"

"Unless." Marshall began pointing at Ted, "your dating life is the glue holding the entire universe together. Whoa. Chills. Anybody else get chills?"

"Look, I realize we've been down this road before, but the fact is, whatever I do, it all keeps coming back to Robin, so...I gotta do this." Barney reached over and slapped Ted, "Ow! What the hell?"

"That wasn't me. That was the universe." Barney said looking up, Rosalie laughed and smiled at Ted.

"Dude, he's right. How many times do you have to watch this crash and burn before you say, "enough"?"

"One more. One more time. One more big, beautiful, stupid romantic gesture. And then whatever she says, yes or no, that's it. If it's yes, great. If it's not, then I'm done going after Robin forever."

"So what's this big, beautiful, romantic gesture?" Lily asked

"I am going to make her...a mix CD." Rosalie gave Ted a look and shook her head, "no, I'm kidding. Lily, I'm going to need the spare key to Robin's apartment."

"I see where this is going. Ted, waiting naked in a girl's bed wearing whipped cream undies does not work...usually. The setting- Martha's Vineyard, 1999. The characters: yours truly and a raven-haired au pair by the name..." Lily reached across the table and slapped him.

"Universe." she said simply, "so, this plan you speak of?"

"Remember the first night Robin and I went out? I stole a blue French horn for her and it almost worked."

"Yeah. Dude, that was awesome, but how are you ever going to top that?" Rosalie listened to his plan on having an orchestra waiting with him at her apartment with all blue painted instruments and Rosalie thought that could work in his favor seeing their connection with the blue French horn.

The next night Rosalie and Barney sat on her living room couch eating pizza and watching a movie on the television. She took a drink of her beer and then a bite of pizza.

"What's your schedule like this weekend?"

"I have court hearing Friday at ten, hopefully over by twelve. Then I'm done for the weekend, why?"

"Let's go away together."

"Where?"

"Hamptons?"

"Yes." Rosalie smiled and took another bite of pizza. Rosalie got a call from Ted asking her to meet him at the bar and then he called Barney, not knowing the two were together. They rode together to the bar and sat beside each other.

"Barney, move. Let me sit next to Rosa." Lily said, Barney moved immediately and Lily slid into the booth seat while Barney sat in the chair next to her. Marshall sat across from Lily and Ted came in next. He told them how Robin couldn't give him an answer right away and how she was going out with Sandy on the camping trip this weekend.
