I packed two pairs of clothes, a blanket, money, the book about the Ice Queen, and food that won't go bad in a back pack. I snuck out trying not to get caught by anyone for the fear they might ask where I was going or tell my parents. As I went around a corner my Mother was there to greet me.

"I know what you're doing," My mother said in a sweet tone. "and your brave for doing it. I won't tell your father, now go and save our land."

She kissed me on the forehead and pulled me into an embrace before rushing me to the door.

"I love you Mom, see you soon." I promised her and mumbled under my breath. "I hope."

As I got to the palaces wall Flora was already there with her bag in hand. We headed to the woods in the North. We walked on and on till the moon was high up in the stars. It was getting colder and colder by the minute ad neither of us had a jacket,  and then it started to pour down rain.

"Flora, I see lights up ahead. It may be a town and find a place to sleep." I said over the rain. She nodded and we kept walking towards the lights.

As we got closer we went to a nearby hut on the edge of the town. I knocked on the door, after a few minutes a middle-aged woman came to the door.

"Well hello there, young ladies. What are you doing out in the rain?" She asked us.

"We've ran away from home for a bit and need a place to stay." Flora answered with a slight lie. The lady was taken by surprise for a bit before snapping out of it and quickly ushered us in. As we walked in the lady said:

"You poor things." she then turn her head to a wooden door on her left and knocked on it. " Aidan, we have guests."

"Okay, Mom be right there." A male's voice called out from behind the door. After we sat down on the couch a tall boy with black untamed hair and icy blue eyes.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Aidan." He said laying his eyes on me with a shy smile.

"Hey, I'm pri -uh- Lavender, but my friends call me Lav." I responded, then gestured to Flora. "This is Flora, my best friend."

"Nice to meet you." Flora said when he looked at her, just realizing she was there. We sat there in awkward silence till his mom came around the corner.

"Would you guys like some hot chocolate?" She asked us.

"Sure Mom, I think they would like that." Aidan responded.

"What's hot chocolate?" I question with a look of confusion on my face.

"It's chocolate milk heated up. It's really good." Aidan answered turning to me with a smile. I nodded and got up to walk to the kitchen to get some hot chocolate with Aidan and Flora following after me. As soon as the hot chocolate was put in front of me I grabbed it and took a sip. It was so sweet and creamy, but it was really hot and it burnt my tongue.

"Ow, my tongue." I almost screamed. Aidan and his mother burst out laughing and I looked at them in confusion.

"You let it cool down before you drink it, it's like tea but better." Aidan said trying not to burst out in laughter again.

"You could have said it before, I tried it." I responded realizing that it was actually pretty funny.

"So, where are you girls heading too?" The lady spoke up.

I looked at flora see if we should tell them. When she nodded and turned to the lady and said: "We're heading North to see if the Ice Queen is real and if she is, we will try and get rid of her."

They looked at for a second and then the lady spoke up.

"Oh, then you should bring Aidan. He's an excellent hunter. He come's home almost every day with a dear or two." She said with a smile. "It will help with food."

"That sound great." I answered her, then turned to Aidan. "If you want of course, I won't make you do something you don't want to do."

"I would like that, I think that tomorrow we should head out after breakfast to the market to get both of you more proper clothes for walking." He said getting up with his hot chocolate and heading to his room. "I'll start packing and I will see you tomorrow."

After he went into his room his mom started to get some pillows and blankets for us to sleep on. Then she went to her room wishing us goodnight. We laid down on the floor it wasn't the castle but it was the best they could do. After a bit both flora and I was fast asleep.
