Summer again

Chapter 3

In the morning I woke up to the smell of pancakes and bacon being cooked. As I went to the kitchen Aidan was in the kitchen making breakfast.

"Good morning Lavender." He said taking notice I was there.

"Good morning," I yawned. "What are you making?"

"Bacon, pancakes, and eggs." He answered.

"Sounds good, can I help you with anything?" I asked walking around.

"Yeah could you get plates from that cupboard." He responded motioning to where they would be as he flipped a pancake. I nodded and grabbed four plates and  sat them down next to were he was cooking and walked over to a nearby window. "Thanks, how many pancakes do you want...Lavender?" He walked over to where I was looking out the window.

"Hm...? oh yeah three please." I answered with a smile. He went back to where he was cooking and placed three pancakes and some bacon eggs on one plate and made his plate. After placing my plate in front of me he sat in the chair next to me, starting to eat his food. I just sat there looking at my food.

"Come on eat, I promise I didn't poison it." Aidan told me trying to lighten the mood. I gave him a smile and picked up my fork. I tasted the pancakes and they were so good, I went in for more as Aidan started to laugh.

"I'm guessing it's good then." He said with a smile.

"Yes, I never had this good of a pancake before. How did you do it?" I asked stuffing my face with more pancake.

"It's my own special recipe I made it for my mom when she wa..." He started as Flora and Aidans mom walked in.

"Good morning you two, how did you sleep?" The lady asked us.

"Good" We answered at the same time.

After we all finished breakfast we headed out to the town to get proper clothing for Flora and I. Aidan adjusted his quiver on his shoulder as we walked. I was pulling up my long purple hair as we walked. When we got to the town a lot of stores were already open. Flora and I traded in all of our clothes except the ones on our body for money to buy proper clothing. I got a simple outfit with leather boots and a black cloak.Flora got an earthy looking outfit with a brown jacket and fur boots. We trade our last pieces of clothing in after we changed and started to walk around.

"You guys should have some weapons in case of an emergency." Aidan told us.

"Your right, do you know where we could go to get some." I asked him.

"Just follow me." He replied and he lead us to a small blacksmith building. We walked in and I heard a hammer clashing on metal. "Atlas! You have customers."

"Hey Aidan, what can I get for you." A boy with dirty clothes around our age stated, while he came around the corner. I assumed his name was Atlas.

"Well, they need some weapons. Maybe something easy to carry and learn." Aidan answered him. Atlas looked over at Flora and I, looking us up and down.

"Okay, I have some ideas." He said then pointed at me "You with the purple hair and green eyes, what's your name?"

"Lavender" I said kind of shyly. 

"Lavender follow me, I have a couple choices over here." Atlas insisted, walking off to another room. I hurried after him, he was already in the room placing items on a table when I got there. The table had a couple daggers, bow and arrows, and some sword looking things.

"Pick whatever draws your attention the most." Atlas told me.

I walked around the table looking at all the choices, they all looked really cool. As I kept looking my eyes kept wander over to this slightly curved sword with a beautiful gold hilt embedded with a large Black Rainbow Crystal. I picked it up admiring every piece of it.

"I love this one, it's beautiful." I told him.

"Yes, the scimitar is a good choice. It compliments your green eyes really well." He replied.

We walked out with my weapon of choice in hand. When I came back Flora and Aidan looked at the weapon I chose. I smiled at them and I took Floras place as she followed Atlas to the room.

"Nice choice, it suits you." Aidan said looking at the ground.

"Thanks, I love everything about it." I responded looking over at him. He looked at me and our eyes met and we stood like that for a bit. Then Aidan spoke up breaking eye contact.

"No problem" He said with a hint of red in his face.

Flora came back with a silver bow and arrow. We then payed for the weapons and said goodbye to Atlas, as he saw us off.  Once it was night Aidan built a fire and we laid on the ground to get some sleep. Aidan took watch under a tree across from me as I fell asleep.

I was surrounded in snow, in an open field. It felt as if something was watching me and I had the urge to run. As I ran I saw some trees, I ran as fast as I could to get to them. "You cannot run from me sweetheart, I will always win."  A woman's icy cold voice called out.  I looked around to see who it was but no one was there. My chest started to hurt and I looked down and a large piece of ice was ran through me and the white snow was stained with my blood. I screamed in pain as I crumpled to the ground. "Lavender! Lavender! Wake up!"

I bolted right up screaming, then tears started to roll down my face.
