Summer again

Chapter 9

In the morning I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the door. I slowly got up and headed to the door, when I opened the door a familiar red headed boy was standing in the door.

"Hey, princess." Arnold said 

"Ugh, what are YOU doing here?" I asked really annoyed.

"To stop you from making a mistake and getting your self killed. You need to be in the castle safe and protected." He answered placing a hand on my cheek. "Come home."

I pulled my head away from his hand and said. "No, I need to stop the Ice Queen before she kills the whole kingdom!"

At that  Aidan woke up and head to the door. "Lav, what's going on..." He asked groggily trailing off noticing Arnold.

"Who's this!?" Arnold asked clearly angry.

"Better question, who are you?" Aidan argued back.

I'm betrothed with Lavender, which means we're going to get married, you simple minded peasant"

"Arnold, please leave. I know you're just here because my parents told you to and if you really loved me you would have done it with out anyone asking you." I told Arnold. Aidan's mouth was hanging open and was in clear shock. "Goodbye and please never talk to me again."

I shut the door and turned towards Aidan who now was looking really disappointed. I didn't want him to find out that way, I wanted him and I to be happy together even if it meant never returning home.

"Aidan what's wrong?" I asked with a expression of both sadness and embarrassment.

"I-I knew you were engaged to someone, I thought it would be a better looking and better guy than me. But that was no prince he was a jerk and didn't deserve yo-" He said before I kissed him on the lips wrapping my arms around his neck, I stood on my toes just to reach his lips. He wrapped his arms around my waist and for once everything seemed right and I never wanted to let go. His lips were soft and warm and the smell of the forest was stronger than ever. Our lips parted and Aidan whispered in my ear. "I love you."

"I love you too, and I will give up anything just to be with you." I whispered back. Aidan then placed his forehead on mine and we stood there until someone spoke up.

"Ah... Lovebirds so happy to wake up to blah..." Flora said walking over to us. "Anyways... who was at the door?"

"I'll give you one guess. Plus I told him to never bother me again." I answered as Aidan and I let go of each other.

"Good for you, I never liked him anyways."

Sarel woke up at the sound of Flora's reassuring voice. He sat up groggily and asked what was going on. We told him we were leaving as soon as possible to head to the next town.

"What for did something happen while I was asleep?" He asked

"Just Lav's new ex boyfriend. Nothing to worry about." Flora answered walking over to him.

"So we can eat an actual breakfast still?" He asked and everyone looked at me for a proval.

"I don't think he'll show his face for awhile." I answered and we headed down to the dining hall for breakfast.

The dining hall looked like a restaurant with a buffet filled with all types of breakfast foods. There was pancakes, bacon, muffins, eggs, orange juice, apple juice, and so much more. I grabbed some pancakes and bacon, along with some orange juice and sat with everyone. Everyone there looked at us with strange ,I figured it was because we had weapons on us and we weren't dressed to go hunting or it was because Sarel was with us. Multiple times I caught a white haired boy about our age looking at us as if he wanted to tell us something. I shrugged it off and continued eating.

"How are the pancakes?" Aidan asked me.

"Good, but not as good as yours. I would kill for those pancakes." I answered with a smile.

"I miss her," Aidan mentioned.

"Miss who?" I asked "Your mom?"

"Yeah..."

"You'll see her again I promise." I stated with a smile. At that moment the boy with white hair walked up to us.

"Hi, my names Aspen are you guys looking for the Ice Queen?" He asked us shyly.

"Yeah..." Aidan answered grabbing my hand under the table.

"Can I come with you?" Aspen asked "I know where her castle is in the mountains."

"How do you know that?" Aidan asked a little forcibly.

"Be-Because I'm her brother."
