Summer again

Chapter 6

I was in a beautiful castle made of entirely out of ice. Suddenly a woman was in front of me. "Welcome, to my fortress. My name is Frostine, and yes I'm the Ice Queen." She told me. "Why... why did you bring me here!" I yelled at her. "To make a deal of course. Bring me that little princess and I'll let you and your mom live." She said. "What... what princess?" I asked wondering what she meant. "She didn't tell you?" She questioned as she snapped her fingers and Lavender appeared looking down in a beautiful blush colored dress and a crown, as heavy as it looked with all the responsibility on top she wore it like it was a feather on her head. "Lavender you lied to me!" I yell in anger. "I'm sorry" she mutters. "So, I'll let you think about it then." Frostine said and suddenly the dream faded away.

I woke up as the sun came up since everyone was still asleep, I decided to clear my head and practice shooting my bow and arrow. I went to a small clearing and started shooting thinking about what the Ice Queen told me.

Lavender's pov:

I woke up with the most pleasant dream I have had since I left, it was about Flora and I heading home with Aidan and it was around time for a festival and we had the best of times Aidan was leaning in for a kiss on the cheek when I woke up. Sarel and Flora was already finishing up breakfast when I looked at them.

"Did Aidan go out to hunt again?" I ask realizing he isn't here.

"Don't know if he is, he would be back by now." Flora stated throwing an apple core over her shoulder. "Why don't you go look for him, see if he's all right."

"Okay I'll be back soon if I can't find him." I answered as Flora gave me a wink. I walked in the woods for a bit before I came to a small clearing. Aidan had his back towards me shooting arrows at a tree and not missing once. He stopped for a bit, then I piped up.

"I'm guessing you either have something on your mind or the tree owed you money."

"We hardly even know each other; how could you tell?" He asked seeing as I was right.

"I'm good at judging people's feelings. So, what's going on?" I answered as I started to walk towards him.

"The Ice Queen, she came to me in my dream and said she wanted the princess. When I asked her who she was talking about she told me you." He said turning around and yelled. "Why didn't you tell me you were the princess!?"

"So, you and your mom didn't alert my father at the castle. He doesn't want me out here, he thinks I should be helping the kingdom with their problems. Now the Ice Queen wants me dead and I may not go back home, I should have just stayed at the castle where I belong." I answered breaking down into tears.

"You shouldn't have lied to me; next time just tell the truth." He responded calming down and pulling me into an embrace. My face was buried in his chest as I sobbed, every so often I would give a terrified mumble saying She was going to kill me. Aidan would just hold me denying what I said. He loosened his arms so I could look him in his eyes as he said: "I promise that I would protect you no matter what." 

Then he did the unthinkable he planted a soft kiss on my forehead. I felt my ears go red and I couldn't look him in his icy blue eyes, in fear that I might start crying again. I had to stay strong for him and myself, he took my hand and we started walking back to camp. I could still feel where his soft lips touched my forehead calming me down. When we got back Aidan let go of my hand and we started packing up I grabbed some fruit to eat as we walked, I held on to my scimitar so tight my knuckles turned white. Sarel put a hand on my shoulder to let me know that I'm not alone in this fight and that my friends are with me.
