I watched my fingers move as a small band of light twisted around them. It was hard to believe I was actually able to produce light on a whim. I stared at my fingers in wonder when someone stood in front of me. 41
"How's your day going." The person asked sitting beside me under the tree. I looked towards the person to see who it was, it was Aidan.
"Pretty boring." I answered looking him in his icy blue eyes, letting my hand fall beside me.
"Yeah it would be boring if you sat under a tree all day." He replied laughing a bit as he started playing with the bracelet around my wrist.
"I would be doing something if I didn't hurt my leg." I stated with a slight laugh.
"I wish I could have been there sooner." Aidan responded frowning a bit and his eyebrows knit together.
"It's ok, it's not like you knew and you killed the wolf so... everyone's safe." I gave a small smile and kissed his cheek, before I laid my head down on his shoulder. His eyes were focused on my bracelet as he laid his head on mine. I took the hand he was using to play with my bracelet in mine and closed my eyes. I felt his lips touch my forehead and my face grew warm.
Aidan quietly got up and I reluctantly let go of his hand. I continued to sit there under the tree drifting off into sleep.
Aidan's pov:
I left the clearing to continue hunting. I trudged through the snow until I found a group of bushes to hide in and waited. As I waited for some birds to fly by I found myself thinking about Lav. I felt bad she couldn't do anything all day and sitting alone under a tree, I wish I could have stayed there with and keep her company but I had to hunt so we have food for dinner. I heard what she this morning and it made me feel even worse about leaving her.
I spotted a flock of birds and managed to shoot one down with my bow and arrow.
"One down four more to go." I said to myself as I collected the bird. Once I got four more birds I skinned and cleaned them all, before heading back to camp.

It was night time and we were all gathered around the fire, eating the birds I caught earlier that day. Everyone was talkative and happy except one.
"Hey Lav." I greeted with a smile.
"Hey." Lav answered forcing a smile.
"Are you feeling ok?" I asked shifting closer to her.
"Yeah, I'm fine..." She answered looking to the ground.
"What's wrong?"
"It's just that I feel useless." She replied with her eyes welling up with tears.
I put my arm around her and she laid her head on my shoulder. "You are not useless." I stated.
Tears started to silently fall down her cheeks. I held her close until she stopped crying, once she stopped crying she pulled away from my hug and wiped her tears.
"Thank you," She said before she gave me a quick kiss.
"No problem," I replied as she went back to eating her meal. "Why don't you come hunting with me tomorrow?"
"That would be fun." Lav answered with a wide smile. We finished dinner and headed to bed, Lavender's bed was next to mine and she fell asleep almost instantly. Her purple hair fell perfectly around her peaceful face. It almost seemed like nothing was going wrong. I reached out and held her hand, her hand was dainty and soft it was almost like she hadn't held a weapon in her life. She was thinner than when I met her but stronger both physically and mentally. She looked almost fragile. I want to protect her even if it costs me my life, because I love her and I would do anything for her. She is my princess.
I continued to hold her hand as I began drifting off into sleep.

When morning came, I got up silently and woke Lavender up.
