~Sophie's Pov~

My twin brother walks back into the room.

He looks at me before looking at the floor and walking towards the exit.

"Oi!" I call and he doesn't stop "what's your name?"

"Dustin Baker" he looks up at me and after a minute walks over and kneels next to me.

For the first time in my life I wanted to lower myself to where I should be. Social rankings I was far below him. He was rich and I was poor, relation or not.

Everyone else I don't care about but he was my brother and it felt wrong standing above him.

He started untying my knots and I look at him with wide eyes. He gives my a wonky smile like he doesn't even know what he's doing.

"Boy, stop" the police officer says

"No don't worry officer she's stable. She can't get away" I look at the door and Dustin continues with my knots.

"What are you doing here!?" I spit

"Watching my prisoner and helping my mate" he gives me a cocky smile.

"I'm not yours" I growl

"Yeah, whatever. Need help Dustin?" Ben walks over and starts untying the other side of the chair.

"So your friends with this selfish jerk?" I ask Dustin and he nods

"Grew up together"

"Nice" I say sarcastically "all the kids I grew up with hate me"

"Shame" Ben says not missing a beat.

"Shut up Ben"

"Fine I won't help" he gives me a cheeky grin and I kick at him. The ropes were loosened so I actually got his leg and I turn to see the police officer with his taser ready. "She's fine officer. Just messing around" Ben reassured him.

"I don't trust her" the police man says

"Doesn't matter, I'm here now so you men can dismiss yourselves" after Ben said that I was surprised that they all left.

I give him a shocked look and he smirks "Fathers head of police and guards"

"Figured. Who would listen to you?"

There was a car horn outside which stopped Ben and me mid glare.

"That's the parents" Dustin says while dusting off his clothes.

He turns and leaves me and Ben alone. Ben looks at me then leaves as well.

"Oi, you can't just leave a prisoner" I call after him

He stops at the door and smirks that famous smile I had become accustomed "I don't think you'll need to run away. Your parents are waiting"

He walks out the door and I felt alone. It was a weird feeling but I didn't want to meet my real parents. Why see something you can't have?

It's true. I have a future promised to me at the Other Side with Max, Luke and Dylan. It wouldn't be perfect but it would be what's best for them.

The only way out was the front door where my parents would be smiling and talking with Dustin and Ben.

I walked to the exit and peaked through the small gap. I was right, smiles and hugs.

I push open the shed door and I see Ben turn to look expectantly at the door waiting for my presence. He starts to frown when he doesn't see me.

I rock on the balls of my feet wondering and waiting. What should I do?

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I knew what I had to do.

I jump out of the door way long enough to catch their expressions then I take off running down the road.

"It's Sophie Newman!" A woman cries and I know it's my mother "she's getting away"

"No she isn't Mrs. Baker. She running towards the jail. Plus my men are right there"

I felt betrayed. I wasn't going to run anywhere, no escape. I couldn't leave Max in prison so I was heading there.

But at Bens words two guards came around the corner and grabbed me. The shoved me to the ground and I didn't fight. I let them. Tears flooded my eyes my face was stuck on an angle where I had to watch my family and their disappointed and scared faces. I watched Ben walk over. He kneeled in front of me and pulled my face up.

He looked worried and hurt.

"Why?" He shakes his head

"I can't" I shudder and he pulls me up.

He tells his men to go while I watch Dustin get into the car with his mother and father.

Dustin's confused hurt expression was what I was looking at while Ben dragged me away.

My mother didn't recognise me but what scares me the most was my father.

He knew me. He had too.

His expression was a confused happiness that was topped with shame.

My father had given me up. He didn't want me.
