Chapter Eleven: A Love Triangle

"Sohyunnie, I know it hasn't been that long since the two of us met. But, I hope you don't mind me saying this...." Chanyeol started.

For some reason, Sohyun's heart had begun beating wildly inside her chest. Trying to hide her uneasiness, she tried to look down on her feet but Chanyeol lifted her head up again and looked at her intently in the eyes.

"...But I like you and, I really want us to get to know each other. I want to know you better. I want to know what you like, what you don't like, what makes you happy, makes you sad, I want to do a lot of things with you. If you would just let me. Would that be okay with you?" Chanyeol said still staring at Sohyun in the eyes.

Sohyun doesn't know how to react. She could feel her cheeks starting to burn up. she wanted to look away but Chanyeol's eyes seemed to be pulling her in. Chanyeol wasn't really holding her except for his index finger lifting up her chin, but somehow she can't move away from him.

"You're joking right? Or are you practicing one of your lines?" Sohyun suddenly said.

A confused look suddenly crossed Chanyeol's face as he seemed to notice Sohyun's uneasiness.

"Ah... You're right. You're right. I was practicing my lines. So, what do you think? How was it? Would I be effective enough? Do you think the fans would like it?" Chanyeol lied.

Thinking that things might get awkward between them, Chanyeol simply pretended just to make her feel comfortable.

"Uhm, yeah that was great. For a minute there I really thought you were really serious. Hahaha." Sohyun tried to laugh it off. But the truth is, she somehow wished it was that easy.

"Keep up the good work Chanyeollie." Sohyun said. She could still feel her face glowing red. She looked away.

"Uhm.. I think I need to get back to work now. I'll see you later Chanyeollie" Sohyun said.

"Okay, see you later." Chanyeol said a bit disappointed. He watched her as she go upstairs.

Outside, Baekhyun was sitting on the porch with the flowers still in his hands. He sighed heavily as he looked on to the street.

He looked at the flowers in his hand and sighed heavily. Frustrated, he have decided to throw them on the side.

"Who am I kidding? This is pointless." Baekhyun said throwing the flowers.

Just then Chanyeol opened the door and saw him sitting by himself. Chanyeol sat beside him and wrapped his arm around Baekhyun's neck.

"Hey brother, what are you doing here all alone." Chanyeol asked.

"Ah, nothing. I took a walk on the beach a while ago. I just came back." He said.

"Oh, is that it? Hmn... Baekhyun, can I ask you a favor?" Chanyeol said hesitating.

"Anything. What is it?" Baekhyun looked at his friend curiously.

"Well, you see... I like Sohyun." Chanyeol said surprising Baekhyun.

"And I really wanted for her to like me. Can you help me brother?" Chanyeol asked.

"Why are you asking me? If you really wanted to know her, why don't you ask her brother for help?" Baekhyun said.

"Do you think Suho would help me? It's his younger sister we are talking about here. No brother would let any body, even his friends get to his sister." Chanyeol said.

"Oh....I guess you're right." Baekhyun smiled.

"See what I mean? I don't think Sehun will help me as well. I think he also likes her." Chanyeol said.

"You have a point there. But still, why me?" Baekhyun said.

"Because you don't like her. Don't you?" Chanyeol asked taking Baekhyun a back.

Of course his friend doesn't know he likes Sohyun. For all they know, the two of them were like cats and dogs. No wonder Chanyeol thought he doesn't like Sohyun.

"Please brother. Can you help me?" Chanyeol asked. Baekhyun looked at him and took a deep breath.

"Fine. I'll see what I can do." Baekhyun finally said.

"Thanks brother. You're the best." Chanyeol said coaxing Baekhyun for a fist bump.

"Now. The question is, how to get to her. I told her I like her a while ago..." Chanyeol said.

"You did? What did she say?" Baekhyun interrupted.

"Argh! She thought I was acting out a scene." Chanyeol said burying his face in his hands. Baekhyun couldn't help but gave out a smile in relief.

"Yep. You're hopeless." Baekhyun said patting his friend's back in consolation.

Sohyun paced back and forth inside her room. Chanyeol just told her he liked her. She knew he was sincere but she pretended otherwise.

It's not like she doesn't like him, she actually enjoyed his company. It's just that she's afraid of the possible consequences.

Not knowing what to do, she immediately took out her phone and dialed someone's number. It didn't take long before someone on the other line answered.

Sohyun was relieved to hear that familiar voice.

"Hey Suri, how are you? I'm fine here too." Sohyun said talking on her friend on the phone.

Suri was her closest friend and her editor. Ever since she moved to Canada, Suri has been with her. She knew everything about Sohyun, her family, her pasts, everything that has been bothering her. Suri has been her confidant. She would always go to her every time she's down.

"How's your story coming along?" Her friend asked.

"Argh! Still a work in progress. I'm having a writer's block." Sohyun said slumping herself on her bed.

"Have you seen your family?" Her friend asked.

"No I haven't. But my older brother is here with me." Sohyun said.

"Older brother? You mean the Korean idol? That brother?" Her friend said.

"Uhu. THAT brother. He and his band mates had been staying here in the rest house with me for three weeks now." Sohyun said.

"His band mates? I thought they didn't know you existed? Are you going public now?" Her friend asked worriedly.

"Well, only three of them now knew. Other than Jongin of course. But don't worry, I'm still in the shadows." Sohyun assured her friend.

"So what's troubling you?" Her friend asked.

"How did you know something's troubling me?" Sohyun asked.

"I know you well enough Sohyun. Come on, spill." Her friend said. Sohyun sighed.

"Remember that person I told you before? My brother's band mate that looks a lot like Alex?" Sohyun said.

"Alex? Your asshole of an ex? Just hearing his name makes my blood boil! What about that?" Sohyun's friend asked.

"Well..." Sohyun started standing up and walking towards the window. She looked down and saw Baekhyun and Chanyeol talking to each other.

"The guy who looked a lot like Alex.... lives here with me." Sohyun finally said.
