Final Chapter: Goodnight

TWO YEARS LATER:

"Yeoboseyo? Eomma! Ne... Ne... I'm already at the airport." Sohyun said.

"Are you sure you don't want us to pick you up?" Her mother asked.

"No, I'm fine. I don't want to bother you." She said.

"Will you be okay at our rest house? You could stay here with us if you like?" Her mother asked.

Sohyun couldn't help but chuckle. Somehow their conversation struck like dejavu.

"What's so funny?" He mother asked.

"Ani. I just remembered something. It's nothing." Sohyun said.

"Okay. We'll see you next week for your brother's send off party?" Sohyun's mother asked.

In about a week, her older brother Junmyeon will be enlisting for the mandatory military service. Something every physically abled man in their country must do, being an idol is not an exception. That is why their mother has arranged an intimate get together with the whole family, and one of the reasons why Sohyun had to fly all the way from Canada.

"Ne, Eomma. See you then. Eomma, I got to go now, my ride is here. I'll call you later... Ne.... I love you too.... Bye." Sohyun said before hanging up.

Sohyun loaded her luggage in the cab and got in. After a couple of minutes along the way, Sohyun noticed that the driver kept looking at her through the rearview mirror making her feel a little bit conscious.

"Er... Jogiyo... Is there something wrong, Ajeossi?" Sohyun couldn't help but ask.

"Joesong hapnida, Agassi. It's just that you look very familiar." The driver asked.

"Oh... jeongmal?" Sohyun asked.

"Ne. By any chance... Are you Kim Sohyun?" The driver asked.

"Oh! You know me?" Sohyun asked.

"Ne. My daughter is a fan of yours and EXO. She told me a lot of stories about you and she has a copy of all your books. She also felt bad when she heard you and that Chanyeol kid broke up. She really liked seeing you together." The driver said.

"Jinja? Jeongmal gamsahapnida. That's very flattering." Sohyun smiled.

About two months after Sohyun left, the company released another statement, announcing her and Chanyeol's break up. The company stated that the reason why the two of them broke up, was because the long distance relationship and their busy schedules did not work for the two of them. Chanyeol, however, stated that despite the break up, the two of them remained close friends.

In a way, all the news were not all lies. It is true that since Sohyun left, EXO had been very busy promoting comeback albums, fan meetings, concerts and individual activities. Sohyun's schedule has been full as well. Over the course of two years, she has published a series of books, held book launches, and book signings. In fact, since she left, this is the only the only time she's been on a vacation.

She and Chanyeol also remained the best of friends. Things between them remained the same, except that they are no longer romantically involved. The two of them would still call and send each other messages just like they used to do, something that Sohyun is really thankful for.

Baekhyun on the other hand had been somehow quite the opposite. He rarely calls or sends her messages making Sohyun feel sad.

At first, she just shrugged it off and concluded that he's probably just busy with all the individual and group promotions. She didn't want to compare that how come Chanyeol can still find time for her despite their busy Chanyeol and not him. But she can't help but feel sad especially when the only time they could have a video chat would be when Chanyeol or Sehun or Kai would have it with her and would just pass on Baekhyun.
