I sat scrolling through my Instagram feed, alone in my dressing room. The screaming of my fans led me to be even more excited about the soundcheck on opening night of world tour number 3.
"Hey Y/N, show time" my manager shouted through the door.
I immediately got up, double checked my outfit, took a quick selfie for snapchat, and bolted out to the side of the stage. Little over 80 fans were waiting out there, I loved soundcheck with my fans, it was so intimate and relaxing.
I rushed on stage, bursting with energy after working on my studio album for a year. It feels like I never stop, but I love my job. All the small people below started to scream, a few started to cry.
I giggled before greeting them, "Hi Florida, I missed you".
I started off by testing the vocals on 'Just a little bit of your heart', while my fans sang along. We had a small Q&A session before I decided to sing a cover, of Friend of a Friend by New Hope Club, as it was one of my favourite songs of the year.
The small people below me went crazy, dancing and singing, and it gave me confidence to dance along with them.
"Okay, my loves, I'm gonna go get ready for later on. I love you with my whole heart Florida, thank you!" I excitedly said into the mic, as I ran off stage.
"Oh my god, darling, you smashed that" my manager told me as I ran off stage, hugging her, "Just go and relax now while the fans get into the venue, I'll give you a shout when we'll need to start putting your ear pieces in"
"Thank you babe" I replied, going back into my tiny dressing room.
I whipped out my phone and went on Twitter, to see my notifications were going crazy. I clicked into a video to see that a fan had recorded me singing and uploaded it. And it grabbed a lot of attention, fast.
I checked my dms to see a message from a verified account.
"Hi Y/N, it's Blake. Just wanted to say how much we appreciate you playing our cover today, we're a big fan of yours too! Xxx"
I sent a message back, slightly shaking.
"Hi Blake, It's no problem, I really love your music ! Maybe I'll see you soon someday, I'm pretty sure we hit London on the tour ! Lots of love, y/n x"
He instantly replied, nearly sending me into hysterics.
"How do you know where we're from😂 Didn't know you were such a big fan girl 😂 Xxx"
I found myself giggling into my phone, talking to Blake, as my manager screamed at me that I had to get on stage. I sent him a quick message.
"About to go on stage, chat soon, yeah? X"
"Good luck babe x".
I found myself grinning like an idiot while I prepped to go on stage.
I couldn't wait to get to London.
