You sighed heavily as you watched the stars go past in the navy sky. The car moved quickly across the highway and you were too deep in thoughts to know where abouts you were.
You snuggled back into Reece's chest, grabbing his hand that was rested over your shoulder, playing with his fingers. Both of you sat in a comfortable silence, dreading what would come in only an hours time.
"You know we'll be okay, don't get upset" he whispered in your ear, his muscular hands running through your hair.
You sighed loudly, not wanting to get into the 'leaving for tour' conversation at 9 at night in the car on the way to the airport with his parents. You both knew it always ends in tears.
"I know" you whispered, keeping the volume low so only you two could hear, "Let's not talk now, just hold me".
With your instructions his grip around you tightened. The mood in the car was somber and quiet. No one wanted to speak up.
The pair of you sat like that until the car unexpectedly arrived outside the airport. For a minute your heart stopped and you realised he had to go. As Reece got all his bags out of the boot he said goodbye to his family. He then turned to you, about to say something when you shushed him.
"Reece, just don't. Come here"
You embraced eachother in a tight hug, neither of you having intentions to let go anytime soon.
The other boys arrived shortly after so they could all board the flight together. Everyone was emotional, even Reece's parents looked like they were on the verge of tears as he hugged them goodbye.
"I'll see you soon, okay?" He whispered in your ear, giving you one final bone crushing hug.
Suddenly, George spoke up, interrupting your moment, "Mate, we'll miss the flight. Let's go"
"Bye Reece" you said as your lips touched for the last time.
You all waved them off through the airport doors, wiping the tears falling down your face and heading back to the car.
