The met gala. The most anticipated event of the year, if you wanted to meet a celebrity you'd guaranteed find them there.
You were reluctant to go at first, thinking the better option would be to sit in front of the television with a tub of ice cream. But you had to, 9 months out of the spotlight and your manager insisted you go to promote new music. So here you were, walking down the carpet, surrounded by a sea of lights and the constant sound of chatter.
"here she comes, the beautiful y/f/n, wearing a stunning Vera Wang gown!"
You smiled for the cameras, waving and trying to be as friendly as possible, when you spotted someone from the corner of your eye. Him. Blake Richardson.
There he was, strolling down the red carpet, not a care in the world, looking extremely smart, with a girl. Another girl, that wasn't you.
You tried to keep it in, thinking of your fans who wouldn't want you crying. Your vision became blurry as you ran up the steps and into the auditorium, away from the blinding camera flashes and mobs of journalists. As you made it to the bathrooms, you felt the tears streaming down your face.
He looked so happy and you were so miserable. You had taken 9 months out of the spotlight to recover from your horrific breakup and you had only just found the smallest bit of courage to get yourself back out there. Big Mistake.
As you made your way to your seat, you felt someone tap your shoulder, you turned around and you came face to face with Blake. The boy you still loved.
"uh..hi y/n,how are you?" he asked nervously.
"Hi Blake, I'm doing okay, you?"
"Yeah, great, this is Katie" he introduced you to the girl who's hand was linked with his, she smiled at you and she was beautiful, you didn't want to admit.
"Hiya" you tried to greet her without being rude, but this was getting too much, "Sorry but I have to go, hopefully see you around?"
Before he even had a chance to reply, you walked away. Out the doors and down the crowded stairs of celebrities. Camera flashes went wild and you knew pictures of you crying and running down the stairs would hit tabloids tomorrow but you honestly didn't care. You just wanted him back.
