You sat in the backseat of the car, hands intertwined with Reece's as you stared out the window. Your mum was driving you and him to your aunt and uncles house, where you would be babysitting a toddler and a newborn until half 12 that night.
"Babe", Reece whispered in your ear, "If you're afraid you're gonna drop the baby don't be"
You looked up and were met his beautiful brown ones, you chuckled and leaned your head into his shoulder, making yourself comfortable with his arms around you.
You suddenly heard the car jerk to a stop and your head snapped up, realising you were here. You and Reece walked up to the door with your mum and your auntie and uncle explained bedtimes and all that.
Shortly after they all left and it was just you reece and the kids. You checked your phone and it read 7:03pm.
"Five and a half hours to go" you sighed, falling into his chest on the sofa. You stayed like that for at least half an hour watching the toddler play on the floor. Thankfully the baby was still sleeping upstairs, you just prayed he wouldn't wake up.
It was 7:57pm when the sounds of baby cries filled the living room from the baby monitor. Just as you were about to get up, Reece put his hand on your thigh to stop you.
"Hey, I'll get him".
You smiled at him before he made his way upstairs and you got your four year old cousin, Ella, into her pjamas. It was nearly half 8 and Reece still hadn't come down yet from trying to rock the baby over.
You and Ella made your way upstairs and you stopped when you heard Reece, singing Whoever he is, rocking the baby back and forward in his arms. You watched as he placed him back into the crib before coming out and quietly closing the door.
"Hi you two" he said, giving you a kiss on the cheek, "Should Miss Ella not be in bed?"
She giggled as you lifted her up and carried her into her room. You tucked her in and before you could leave the room, she handed you a pink sparkly book.
"y/n, will you and Reece read this to me pretty please"
The two of you sat on the edge of her bed, reading some story about fairy princesses. You heard her yawn throughout the story and by the time you finished the book she was fast asleep.
"Goodnight Angel" you whispered, before shutting her bedroom door.
You and Reece made your way down stairs and sat on the sofa, your head on his shoulder and your hand on his chest.
"Kids asleep for nine, I think that's pretty good" he laughed before kissing your head.
"Kids are hard work" you said with a yawn, "So don't even think about it for another 10 years".
