It should be me, stealing your heart, driving you wild.

You gazed at the photo of you and your best friend on your bedside table. There was only one problem; Best Friend. You knew how cliche it was, but you had fallen for him and he had a girlfriend. You knew they didn't belong together, it was a selfish way to think but she's constantly messing with his head. You were pulled from your thoughts when you heard your phone go off.

George Smiff ♡ is calling you.

You answered and your heart broke for the boy on the other end of the phone. You could tell by his voice he'd been crying.

"Hi y/n"

"George, what the hell happened?" You asked him but you knew what the answer was already.

"Lauren, she has no commitment, it's all me in this relationship. I wish she would just make a fucking effort because I love her. And I hate myself for it but I still love her. y/n what do I do" he sobbed down the phone. Every word he said, my heart broke even more, someone like that doesn't deserve him.

I wish that I could fix you, cos she's playing with your head.

"George, my honest opinion? She's not worth any of this, she isn't worth your tears because she obviously doesn't care about you" you said, you bit your tongue to stop yourself confessing to him that it should be you, stealing his heart. Not her, breaking it.

"I don't know, I'm trying to get over her but I just can't. Wait, do you have plans tomorrow night?" he asked you, still sniffling from crying.

"No, why?"

"Don't suppose you want to come to Coldplay with me? I know it's a bit short notice but I don't think going with Lauren would be a good idea"

"I would love to come with you,G" you grinned.

You were just finishing off your mascara when you heard George coming up the stairs, he came into your room and made himself comfortable on the bed, you were best friends so this wasn't unusual.

"You okay now?" You asked him.

"Yeah, I just want to try and forget about her. Are you ready?"

As you got up from your dressing table, George grabbed your hand pulled you down the stairs. You were still holding hands as you walked out the door and into your mums car. She drove you to the stadium.

It was far too soon to call it date but you took my hand I swear something changed.

"Have fun you two" she winked, which made you both laugh.

You both made your way into the standing area of the stadium, it didn't take long for the band to come on, you and George laughed and giggled the whole way through the support act. She wasn't mentioned once, and you wished it could be like this all the time because you were both truly happy.

When Coldplay came on, the crowd lit up like an ocean of lights. 40,000 people with their hands in the sky, it was beautiful. You should've been singing along, but wishing he was yours was all that was running through your mind.

When the slower song came on, he turned and looked over at you. You felt an urge to kiss him, and you thought he was going to, but you could tell he still wasn't over her. You could tell in his eyes he was anywhere else than here with you.
