When playing hearts
It's true we often burn
But when it starts
I'll take my turn
                              For the more it smarts
The more I learn
The depth of hurt
Is less than what we earn
                              And I've seen hearts
Who on their turn
Did never part
And never turn
                              So I'll play my heart
When it's my turn
And hope I start
A forever burn
