Echo Down The Hallway

Each generation attempts
to improve on their parents lives.

Perhaps most generations
make small gains because of it.

I hated the way my parents
handled their divorce.

I worked hard
at handling mine better.

I could have spent that effort
on having a better marriage.

When it comes right down to it,
I set out to have a better mess.

I have a real good, solid mess.

My grandkids will have
an even better mess...

...unless I teach their mother
a normal I have never known.

Screams of pain
echo down the hallway of time
until someone shuts a door...
