I remain still as Ethan pulls away from me.

"So, can I consider all this a yes then?" He asks.

I grin as I make my way into my car. Ethan heaves a heavy sigh, flailing his arms out beside him.

"Come on baby girl you're killing me."

"If I tell you, will you stop acting like a big baby?"

"Anything baby girl." He leans against my door, his eyes pleading. I motion for him to come closer.

He leans down so his ear is right in front of my lips.

"Fuck yes." I whisper, and I can see a smile spread over his lips. He leaves me there, and I watch him get into his own vehicle which is parked in front of mine. I catch his eyes in the rear view mirror of his truck, and I smile before peeling out of the parking lot.

I walk in the house with a giddy feeling that I can't seem to get rid of. Not that I want to. My parents don't ask any questions as I make my way down the hall and to my bedroom, closing the door. With my back to it, I let out a happy sigh, thinking of Ethan.

I got asked to prom. Prom! I've never been asked to a dance, or really any event for that matter. Suddenly, my phone buzzes and I can't help but eagerly dig it out of my pocket to check to see if it's a text from Ethan.

None other than him of course.

I'm taking you dress shopping tomorrow

I reply with shaking fingers. Excited shaking fingers. I decide not to sound too excited, so I type something as cool and laid back as I can.

I guess. I mean Saturdays are normally my day to chill

Haha very funny. I'll pick you up at ten

Ten in the morning?! Ugh, this boy would be the death of me.

I roll out of bed on Saturday morning, and when I realized that I only had a half hour to get ready, I went into a panic. I rush out of bed, going to my barely there closet to desperately search for something to wear.

Wait, why am I working so hard for an outfit? It isn't as if I'm dating Ethan. We just make out here and there, and we're going to prom together. That's it, right?

By the time I get into the bathroom to scrub my teeth and do something with my hair, I get a text from him.

On my way darling

Darling. I like that one.

I groan in frustration, knowing that I'll still have twenty minutes because he lives a bit farther out of town. I stare at myself in the mirror, wondering what to do with myself. I'm wearing a Ramones t-shirt and a pair of black jean shorts with rips in them, and they reach just above the middle of my thigh. I decide to just put my hair into a high ponytail, putting on mascara and swiping on some cherry lip gloss.

Here sugar

That's when I hear a horn honk. When I look out the window, sure enough Ethan is waiting for me in his car, one that I haven't seen, and he's gazing at the house. I shut off the bathroom lights and race downstairs after grabbing my purse off my bedroom floor.

"Where're you goin?" My mom asks with dad standing right next to her, coffee in hand.

"Dress shopping!" I call before walking out the door.
