ᴛᴡᴏ years later and Kate's almost - but not quite, she thinks it would be very hard to do so - forgotten the Doctor. She doesn't think it's possible to forget the Doctor. But the world has been so hectic lately that she hasn't even had time to think about Prisoner Zero and the Atraxi and the Doctor. The only time she really thinks about her adventures in Leadworth all those years ago is when she manages to find the time to read the astronomy magazines she's got a subscription to or she finds a new article to read about some black hole in deep space of something.

Other than that, she's just too busy to think about the Doctor.

She still works in the nursery and there seems to be more kids than ever in Leadworth so it just keeps getting busier and busier, especially now that there's only five of them working there, so she's constantly run off her feet. Any free time that she gets, she spends sleeping or eating.

For the past half year, however, when she's not been working, she's been trying on dresses and shoes, going to cake-tastings, scouring through venues, sorting guest lists and writing invites and picking the perfect bouquet. And she's not even the one getting married. No, that's Amy, but it's Kate who's roped into doing everything with her.

Not that she's complaining, she likes being involved, it's quite fun. She doubts she's going to be getting married anytime soon - she can never seem to keep hold of any boyfriends and she knows it's because of one stupid, bow-tie wearing alien with floppy hair who she hasn't seen in two years - so she might as well help Amy. And help Amy she did, for the past six months it's all been wedding preparations in time for the big day.

The big day being tomorrow night.

"Not one thing is going to go wrong," Kate tries to sooth her best friend as they sit on Amy's double bed. Kate's painting her toes the shade 'starry blue' but even she knows that stars aren't blue. They're balls of gas. Beautiful balls of gas that she'll never get to see close up.

"What if someone shows up who said they weren't? Or what if the caterers forget the vegetarian options? Or what if--"

"It's all going to go smoothly," Kate soothes, moving over to take a hold of Amy's shoulders. Luckily for her, this 'starry night' nail varnish is quick drying so she doesn't have to worry about smudging it. It's matches her blue dress perfectly. She's Amy's maid of honour tomorrow and the pressure is a little scary, sure, but she's managed so far. "Listen to me, Amy, you don't have to worry about anything. I'll take care of everything. We're just gonna get you to that venue, get you married to the love of your life and then we're going to party. Nothing else to worry about, right?" "
