ᴋᴀᴛᴇ Oswald yawns as she wakes, stretching her arms above her head in the double bed with the white floral sheets that smells faintly of lavender and feels almost like a cloud. She can't stop herself from smiling at the light that shines through the curtains, faded slightly by the white fabric. It's a fresh morning, a new morning. She loves mornings.

Kate presses her toes against the metal at the end of the bed, allowing the coldness to seep through her and jolt her into awakedness like she does every morning. But this morning is different. There's a feel to the air that hasn't been there before. Her eyes cut over to her wardrobe and she grins, seeing her navy blue dress hanging from its hanger on the front. Her black heels sit on the chair underneath it, along with her black clutch, blue wrap to keep out the nighttime chill and the blue fascinator for her hair.

Her best friend is getting married today.

Kate throws her legs over the side of the bed, feet instantly finding her favourite slippers. They look like little green aliens, which makes her smile every time. She's obsessed with space, completely 100% obsessed. Her parents would hate her calling it an obsession - "you're just interested in space, darling, that's all." - but she knows that her love of all things spacey is definitely not just an interest. Ever since she was a little girl, she's been wanting to go to space, see the stars up close, visit every planet inside their solar system and outside it too. She almost had the chance, once upon a time, but then the universe had crumbled around them and she had been forced to give him up.

Her heart sinks as she runs her fingers over the satin fabric of her Maid-of-Honour dress. He'd love this colour, it's a shame he'll never get to see her in it. It's a shame he'll never get to see Amy Pond get married to Rory Williams. She sighs to herself. Now is not the time to worry about him. As long as she remembers him he has a chance of survival, but only Amy can bring him back, only Amy's memories can change the world.

"Hello, Katherine dear!" sings Amy's mother - Tabetha - once Kate decides to make her way downstairs for breakfast. The kitchen is warm and lovely and lively, Amy's parents always play music when they're making food, they always dance together, they always sing along. Kate had never felt a home so full of laughter and love until she had moved in with the Ponds after University, deciding to uproot her life to Leadworth to live with her best friend. Neither of them had moved out of Amy's childhood home since neither of them really cared to, they loved it way too much to just leave it behind. But now that Amy's becoming a Williams, well, Kate's going to have to pack up and find somewhere better to live. Maybe she can live with Jeff. That'll be nice.
