"BEHOLD, RIO!"
Kate stepped out of the TARDIS behind her best friend, eyebrows furrowing at the surrounding landscape. This certainly isn't Rio. She doubts Rio has sheep, and brick churches, and fields. This looks more like Wales then Brazil.
It feels more like Wales than Brazil, that's for sure. She's just glad she wrapped a black hoodie around her waist to wear over her simple black-tee-and-denim-dungarees-shorts outfit when it got colder at night.
"No way," Kate denies, shaking her head at the Doctor as he steps out with Rory.
"Not really getting the sunshine carnival vibe," Rory agrees with her, sharing a look with his fiancée and her best friend. Amy and Kate raise their eyebrows in return. After what they had just been through with that whole Amy having to choose in some weird dreamscape - it was very Inception - they deserved a break to someplace like Rio.
"No," drawls out the Doctor, "oooh, feel that, though, what's that?"
The Doctor starts to bounce in front of them and Kate's eyebrows shoot up. Sometimes he does the weirdest things.
"Ground feels strange. Just me, wait..." he trails off, "that's weird."
"What's weird?"
"Doctor, stop trying to distract us, we're in the wrong place," Amy calls him out.
"Yeah, Doc, it's freezing and I dressed for Rio," Kate says when he goes rushing past her to the grass. Amy nods in agreement. Both of them are wearing shorts. There's no way they'll survive this sort of weather.
"We are not stopping here!" The Doctor doesn't listen to Amy or Kate, he just drops to the ground and pulls out some grass. "Doctor! Are you listening to us? It's a graveyard! You promised us a beach!"
"Blue grass," Kate hears the Doctor say as the three of them trudge over the graveyard to get to his side. "Patches of it all around the graveyard. So, Earth, 2020-ish, ten years in your future, wrong continent for Rio, I'll admit, but it's not a massive overshoot."
