ɪᴛ's the day of the Apollo 11 take off, Kate knows before she even turns on the television in the abandoned warehouse. She knows more about this day than any other day in history, but as she sits herself down in front of the tv, she doesn't even feel a trickle of the excitement she first felt watching it when her dad had given her the recordings when she was just a child. All she feels is sick. Amy has been taken, by those aliens - the Silence, as they call themselves - probably, and now Kate feels all alone and numb again. Why does she keep losing people? Why do her friends keep getting taken from her?

Behind her, the Doctor and River tear apart the astronaut suit that once housed a little girl. The little girl that killed the Doctor by the lake in San Jose. Kate keeps her eyes locked on the black and white television screen in front of her, watching it flicker into static every so often as the connection goes out. She taps it when it does, forcing it back to the newsfeed. She's about to watch Apollo 11 take off and it isn't even a recording, this is real life.

She feels sick again. Amy might've liked this.

Rory stands just out of her line of sight, holding Amy's nano recorder in his hands. It's a live feed directly to her. Everything she says, they hear. Whenever Amy speaks, Kate tries to block her ears. She can't bear to listen to Amy calling out for help.

"The only way to save Amy is to figure out what the Silence are doing," points out the Doctor, pacing behind Kate as she continues sitting with her knees pulled up to her chest in front of the crackling television. "Every single thing we learn about them brings up a step closer."

"Yeah, Doctor, I get it. I know," interrupts Rory. He nods his head over to Kate, who's cheeks still have dried up tear tracks covering them. The Doctor sighs, leaning over to gently squeeze her shoulder. She leans into his touch slightly, but she doesn't tear her eyes away from the television. At least her tears have stopped.

"It's possible she's not just any little girl."

"Well, I'd say she's human, going by the life support software."

"But...?"

"She climbed out of this suit, like, she forced her way out, she must be incredibly strong."
