Once everyone ate, they all headed towards the water again. Miranda turned back and asked me if I was coming, but I smiled and shook my head no, watching my friends run into the water giggling.

I put my head down and continued reading my book until the sunset when we finally had a bonfire. My stomach was rumbling out of hunger, but I ignored it, wanting to have a good time with my best friends.

Everyone was laughing and having a good time, joking around and teasing eachother, telling stories about their childhood that we had forgotten to tell. It felt nice to remember for a while what it was like to not be so emtpy.

I remember when we all became friends. I introduced Michael to the girls, as I had met them at school after he had moved to the other neighborhood. Shortly after that, Luke and Calum were introduced to us, and then Ashton. We all immediately clicked.

We have amazing memories together, like my 16th birthday. We all decided on roller skating because we thought that it would be fun. We all had a amazing time, laughing and holding hands as we tried to do tricks. That was until I broke my arm. On my Birthday. They didn't stop apologizing until I yelled at them telling the

it wasn't their fault.

Or the time when we went to the mall to get Luke a new pair of skinny jeans. He ended up falling over in the dressing room trying to get the tight jeans up, knocking down the curtain and showing the whole store his pineapple undies. We ended up choking from laughing AND getting kicked out of the store. Luke didn't get his jeans that day.

And this was another amazing memory that I'll remeber forever.

"OH MY GOD AND THEN WE PAINTED OUT NAILS AND WATCHED CHICK FLICKS AND OMG" Calum yelled while giggling. He was trying to imitate Emily. she was sitting with her face in her hands, her face probably red from embarrassment.

"That is most definitely not what I sound like." Emily mumbled due to her mouth being smashed.

Everyone laughedat the new found couple that was sure to last a while.

"Hi I'm Calum and I play bass and I'm a loser." Emily said in a overly dramatic deep voice. Calum just chuckled and kissed her cheek lightly in response.

We then went into a full argument whether or not humans were originally supposed to wear clothes, and boys being boys, decided that it would be amazing if everyone could just be naked all the time and when I saw Ashton wink at Miranda, I mentally gagged.

It's times like this that I'm truly grateful for everything I have, so why do I still feel lonely?

"We'd better head home. It's almost 2 in the morning." Anna said, standing up.

Everyone groaned in response, but started cleaning up our mess anyway.

We drove home in silence. I think everyone is too tired to talk. I dropped everyone off at home and finally went home myself.

When I first moved in I was really scared of really being by myself. I was so use to being watched by my parents and having them drive me everywhere, so being on my own still felt foreign to me, even after 2 years.

When I stepped through my door my cat came up to me and started rubbing up against my calf.

"Hi Poppy." I mumbles picking her up.

I had gotten her as soon as I moved in because I felt like I needed company.

I fed her and sat on the couch, not being able to go to sleep quite yet. Letting out a big sigh I turned on the T.V, an old rerun of Friends showing up on the screen.

Silence means thinking, and thinking means Michael popping up in my head, and I don't need that right now.

My phone buzzed beside me indicating I had a text.

Brian was asking me to meetup tomorrow saying he had lots of good news.

We decided on coffee because that seemed most reasonable for us.

I thought about what the news could be, though I already had an idea of what it was. A new boyfriend maybe.

Everything was just too quiet in my apartment. I turned of the television only moments before due to the never ending commercials and all I could hear my stomach rumbling, begging for food.

That was the moment my day long fast was given up. I rushed to the kitchen and are all the food I could fit until I felt sick, only for it to come back up minutes later.
