Turns out, lying that I had a ride was not a good idea. I was standing outside waiting for nothing in particular, it just felt like I was waiting for something. Today during my photoshoot I had an interview alongside it. I answered too many questions that weren't necessary and gave out too much about myself for an absolute stranger to read in a magazine. I had also found out that Brian and his boyfriend were getting pretty serious, thinking about marriage already. I wondered if they would ever adopt kids or an animal. Maybe they wouldn't last that long, I mean, no one really knows. They do have some pretty strong chemistry though, I've seen it first hand.

But now, standing outside the studio, waiting, reality hit me and made me realize that standing on the side of a gated rode made me look like I was about to start something illegal, so I headed off in the direction of my apartment, plus, it looked like it was going to start raining soon. I live 8 miles away from the studio, I guess it wouldn't be too bad to just walk. Relying on people wasn't really something I wanted to do. Walking was something I enjoyed anyway, the scenery and the light wind. It was all very natural, I guess.

People were scattered around the city, rushing to get home before the rare downpour started. The autumn season was soon to start, and I was more than excited. I found comfort in wearing more layers of clothing as well as watching leaves fall off trees.

I had made it 3 miles before it started raining, and it was nearing evening so I wasn't sure if I should call someone it not. I knew Michael would be more than willing to drive me, but it would be so embarassing, so I decided against calling Michael. I had my phone in my hand in the middle of dialing Miranda's familiar number when a car pulled up next to me.

"Ella!" I turned to the person that was yelling my name and wasn't happy with who I saw.

Lucas was leaning slightly to the passenger seat of his old car so he could get a better look at me. I shot him a glare as if telling him to back off, but he just gave me a smug look as chuckled cockily.

"You're a bit wet, do you need a ride babe?" It was true, the rain had speed up quickly, something rare to happen in Sydney and I was quite damp. I almost gagged when he called me babe, but I took his offer for the ride anyway.

I scooted into his familiar beaten up car and sat uncomfortably under his stare. I knew he was waiting for an explination, but I didn't want to give him one. I mean, what would he think of me after I refuse to let the guy I like drive me home from a photoshoot because I didn't want to talk about something? I was more nervous than I should've been. Although Lucas had done some pretty scary and mean things, he was hard to set off. I knew him well enough and I wasn't quite sure if that was a good or bad thing.

"My ride ditched me." I lied. He seemed to buy it though. He shrugged his poor postured shoulders and started the engine of his car again and headed towards my apartment building.

We drove in silence beside the crappy rap music playing. It wasn't the nice silence though, it was awkward and stiff. I was over Lucas and I's relationship, and surely over him, even though his cruel words stuck into my mind like super glue.

When we stopped infront of my apartment building, he turned to look at me. I knew he was going to say something I didn't want to hear, so I got out of his car and made sure to slam the car door.

I walked into my warm apartment and sighed, it was a tiring day and I was still slightly wet.

"You okay?" I jumped from the sound of the familler voice.

"What are you doing in my apartment?" I screeched at Michael, ignoring his question.

"I was just waiting for you to get home but you're kind of late. Why are you all wet?" He asked. I rolled my eyes, he knew exactly why I was late and wet, but he just wanted me to admit it.

"I didn't really have a ride." O said coldly. "Now, I'm tired and I need to shower. Can you please leave?" I knew I was being rude when I had no reason to be, but sometimes Michael was just a tad to up in peoples business.

Michael looked taken aback for a second before he scowled at me. "Yeah, yeah I'll leave. Bye Ella."

To show that he was upset, he slightly shoved my shoulder and made no effort to close the door nicely.

I didn't mean to upset him, or maybe I did. I was just too tired to tell. So I showered and went to sleep, even though Michael tried to call me.
