Chapter 5: He's Acting Strange

Sonic's Pov:
Rookie-I mean Gadget is acting more stranger than usual. He's never yelled at us like that before. Probably shouldn't blame him after all his brother is badly bruised. "Tails have you picked up Rouge's coordinates yet?" Gadget asked.

"Yep, she's at the entrance of Metropolis." Tails said looking at his device while flying. "Hang on, I think I see Rouge in the distance already! Hang on you two!" I said grabbing both Gadget's and Tails' arm. I boosted our way over to Rouge.

"Good thing, you made it. Gears seem like he's in terrible condition." Rouge said looking up at us. "Oh, my poor little brother!" Gadget said lowering down looking at the bruises. "Come on, let's get him to the base. Me and Amy will check on him there." Tails said.

"Good id-what the!?" Rouge stopped mid-sentence. She looked behind us and so we looked. We saw a clone of Chaos standing there. He marched towards us but I managed to Spin Dash into him. "Rouge pick up Gears and fly him to the base!" I yelled out as I dodged Choas' attacks.

I saw Rouge pick Gears up but as soon as I looked back, Chaos punched right in the stomach. "Sonic! G-Gadget help him!" I heard Tails yell out. I ran towards them and I defended them from Chaos. "Oh f*ck no. Tails you told us that you fought and defeated Chaos four, the hell are you afraid of Chaos zero for?!" Gadget yelled.

"Woah, Rookie easy with the language!" I said a bit surprised. I've never seen him act like this. "Come on, let's escape!" I said as I grabbed their arms once again and boosted to the base.

Tails' Pov:
We made it to the base only to find Amy patching up Gears' bruises. "H-How is my brother doing!?" Gadget pushed both me and Sonic aside and ran to Amy. "Well Tails will be the judge of that." Amy said looking at me. I held up my device and scaned Gears.

"He seems fine, he just broke his arm. Other than that no permant damage, he just needs some rest." I said smiling. Amy nodded and Gadget just started at me. It was unconformable, that stare didn't mean "Thank You". He finally looked back at Amy and began to talk to her.

I walked over to Sonic to tell him about what happened. "Sonic?" I said poking his arm. "Yeah buddy? What's wrong?" He asked. "It's about Rookie I mean Gadget." I said looking down. "I was about to say something about that wolf as well." Sonic responded looking at Gadget.

"Yeah, he's never acted like this. When I told about Gears being okay, he just stared at me like I was the one who did this to Gears." I said trying to describe that stare. "Probably just feeling a little nervous and is just at a loss for words." Sonic said patting my back.

I nodded but I knew that wasn't it.
