Chapter 10: Befriending The Enemy

Sonic's Pov:
I'm really worried about Rookie now, he's never done anything like this. I was next to Tails as he tried to find one of his inventions. Infinite standing near the door way looking sad which really was surprising. "Tails continue your search, I'll go check on Infinite." I said as I put my hand on his shoulder.

He nodded and I made my way towards Infinite who was looking down. "What's up with you? You seem sad or in guilt about something" I said with a hint of concern in my tone. "Well I am guilty about you know...almost taking over the world...didn't you see how Gadget reacted towards me?" He responded letting out a sigh. "Yeah, he's kinda been like that lately.." I said as lead to the kitchen table.

"Hm? Whatever do you mean?" He asked as he sat down. "I guess no one told you?" I said as I started to make some coffee for both us. He looks like he was starving even though he's a villain it doesn't make him any different. Besides he's seems rather calm which is a good sign. "Nope just received some glares from your friends" he responded a bit annoyed.

"Well, you see when we mentioned your name around Rookie, he ran off. Once he returned, he acted very strange and different. When he mentioned that his brother was beaten up, he acted very aggressive with us. We thought it might be about that whole Gears thing but I'm doubting that." I explained as I gave him a cup of coffee.

I sat down and we both took a sip of our coffee as we sat in silence. "Guessing everyone is worried about him especially considering the fact I made him fuse with me." Infinite said as he tapped the table lightly. I nodded and I drank the rest of my coffee. Infinite as well finished and we put our cups into the sink.

"You know, you're not so bad...uh" I said not wanting to call him "Infinite". "Ira...that's my name. Shall we check on Rookie?" He said giving me a small smile. I nodded giving him my signature smile. He really is different when you get to know him a bit better.

Maybe I just befriended him out of good luck or something.
