Chapter 23: New Forces

Sonic's Pov:
There was a knock on our door as Ira and Gears came downstairs. I looked at Shadow and Tails to see if I could open it, they nodded as everyone had gone into a attack position. "Who's there?" I asked, slightly opening the door. My hands trembling a bit on the door knob knowing this could well be a trap. Someone could be on the other side, waiting for me to fully open the door and then bam! I am shot or stabbed dead to the ground with everyone else.

"It's me, Corvin and Fuschia!" A male voice replied and I smiled at the names as I opened the door. "Guys! Thank goodness, you two came! You two were our best Rookies along with Gears and...Gadget..." I explained as I hugged them tightly. "Wait, what about Gadget is wrong?" Fuschia asked, her expression turned to worry as she looked to Amy for answers. Amy was hesitant at first but, she knew if they wanted to help out they had to know the truth.

"Let's keep it short since it's a really long story but, Gadget has the Phantom Ruby. He went insane hurt Tails and Infinite here then turned into Perfect Infinity. So now, he is our new villian to defeat in order to win this war." Amy explained, both Corvin and Fuschia freaked out. "WHAT?! HE TURNED INTO PERFECT INFINITY AGAIN?! That means, we have to fight our poor innocent wolf." Corvin exclaimed, looking slightly panicked and worried at the same time. Fuschia however was the opposite, she took deep breaths and slowly walked towards Knuckles.

"You are telling me that Infinite is in this room as we speak and Perfect Infinity is out there RUINING PEOPLE'S LIVES?!" She said, as she shook Knuckles a bit at the last part. I held onto her and Corvin's hands just to make them calm down. "Jeez, you guys are massively freaking out. Don't worry, Infinite is a good and is on our side. He is the newest Rookie and is willing to help us besides him and Gears are going on a spy mission for info so little problems will be created." I explained as they nodded and turned to our spies. Corvin and Fuschia hugged Gears and hoped for him to stay safe.

Then they turned to Ira and I was sweating a bit, they never liked Infinite so what would they think? "As long as you are a good guy, I hope we can be friends." Corvin said, patting Infinite on the back. "Wow uh, thanks!" Ira replied, he was a little flustered but, also encouraged. "Yeah I agree with Corvin! I must say Gadget's old outfit fits on you perfectly, Infinite!" Fuschia exclaimed, hugging Ira with a smile on her face. "Thanks by the way, you can call me 'Ira'. It's my real name." Ira said, a small blush growing on his face. Corvin just gave him a thumbs up while Fuschia just smiled and nodded happily.

"So will you guys join the Resistance again?" I asked, taking out both of my hands to them. They both looked at each and I felt a little worried. What if they say no? My worries went all away as they took my hand and smiled. "Of course, we gotta save Gadget ya know." Corvin said as Fuschia giggled a bit. I smiled and let Tails help them out a bit on what to do. We all waved goodbye as Gears and Ira left to do their mission. I walked towards Shadow who looked angry and disappointed.

"What's wrong Shads?" I asked, he looked at me. "I don't like Corvin and Fuschia being here. There is something different about them." Shadow explained, his arms crossed as he looked at the Rookies. I looked at them as well, what could possibly be different?
