"Wow, that didn't last very long," I wake up to Bella's loud voice in my ear. Opening my eyes, I see her standing near the door of my bedroom.
"What are you talking about?" I mumble in a slurred and tired voice. I'm not wearing any clothes, so I make sure that the blanket is covering my chest.
"You said that you two were going to be just friends," She points out. I look to my side and I see Shaw laying there, still asleep and still naked. "From here, I'd say you failed pretty quickly."
"We had some rum," I explain to her, rubbing away the small headache that's digging at my temple. "What are you doing here?"
"I want frozen yogurt and some new bras," Bella answers me and then glances over to Shaw. "Is he really asleep or just pretending?"
"Well, part of him is awake," I sigh, feeling his morning wood against my thigh. "But I think most of him is still asleep. Why?"
"You're disgusting," She laughs. "Anyway, I'm asking because I need to talk to you about the guy from last night at the party. Did you get my Snapchats?"
"I haven't checked my phone."
"Well, he was great. In every way. He asked me to meet up tomorrow," She tells me. "To study."
"Okay."
"Wren, I haven't slept with a guy more than once for eight months. But to study? And I said yes," She starts to quietly rant so that she doesn't wake up Shaw beside me. "I don't know what came over me, I just couldn't say no."
"You've got a crush? That's new," I slowly realize. "Just give me a minute to get dressed and I'll meet you in the living room."
"Hurry, because I'm freaking out," She hisses at me and then gets out of the room. I take a minute to stretch and then I get up and dressed in some pajama shorts and a t-shirt.
Once I'm out of my room, I shut the door to keep the sound out of the bedroom so that Shaw can stay asleep while I talk to Bella in the living room.
"So, what's his name?" I ask her as I start breakfast.
Bella hops onto the kitchen counter and starts snacking on some Pop Tarts. "Christian. He's really cute, and he's funny. We had an amazing time in bed too. I thought it was just going to be one night though, like it usually is, but when I was leaving his place this morning, he asked me if I wanted to meet up tomorrow to study together. I couldn't think fast enough and I said yes. I'm actually kind of nervous."
"To go on a study date?"
"I know that it sounds ridiculous, shut up," She mutters. "But I don't know, I'm actually worried about what I'm going to wear, and how I should do my hair."
"For a study date," I say again.
"Shut up," She scolds me. "I just said that I know that I'm being ridiculous. Tell me what to do."
"Wear a sweater and bring your text books. Oh, and if he just wants to study then just study. No touching, don't try to have sex with him in the library. If you want to have a shot with him, you have to show that you can have a connection without it being physical. That you can just sit with each other and enjoy the company," I try to give her the best real advice that I can think of.
"No hitting on him while we study. Okay, got it. I can do that," She confirms with a nod. "It's not like I haven't dated before, it's just been a while. I'm getting ahead of myself, we're not even dating. What are you making?"
"French toast casserole," I answer her as I'm cutting up the bread. "And you just need to calm down. How is this guy making you so nervous? You never freak out about guys."
