Chapter 5: Leaving Your Side

"So, I have a little date planned tonight.", Shawn says, coming into our room. "Okay. Where are we going?", I ask, setting down my book. "Well, Houston has a Providence.", he says. My eyes brighten. "I haven't eaten there since I've been in LA.", I say. "Well, get dressed. We need to leave in about an hour.", Shawn says, kissing my forehead and leaving the room, giving me some privacy of getting ready. (yall should look up providence, its hella nice)

I finish my eye makeup, moving on to the other steps in a makeup routine. I apply my lipstick, applying more makeup than I usually do, mainly because this is a fancy restaurant.

Shawn walks to his side of the closet, rummaging through the suits he brought. "What are you gonna wear?", I ask, trying to look over his shoulder, but failing because I'm too short. He turns around and smiles at me. He pulls a dark turquoise suit from the closet. "I think this one."

He grabs a black button up shirt to go under it. "How does that look?", he asks curiously. I nod my head. "Very good. I really like those colors on you.", I say. I rummage through my clothes and grab a one shoulder sequined dress.

"That's going to look really good. Like really good.", Shawn says, looking at the dress. I chuckle and bring my outfit and rose gold heels with me to our bedroom to change, while Shawn changes in the bathroom.

I put on some gold dainty necklaces, grab my purse, and slip my phone in it. When Shawn is done getting dressed, he slips his phone in his pocket.

"Got everything you need?", I ask him, as I open the bedroom door. He pats his pockets. "Phone, keys, wallet. Yep.", he says grinning. I chuckle. We walk out of our room, seeing Daniel, Marie, and Jonah watching tv in the hangout.

"Well, where do you two think you are going?", Marie asks us, smirking. "We have dinner reservations in Houston.", Shawn replies to her. I nod my head in agreement. "Well, have fun. But, not too much fun.", Jonah says, squinting at Shawn. Shawn blushes and says, "Will do sir. I'll have her home by 9:30." "9:00.", Jonah says. "How about midnight?", Shawn says with a bit of attitude, but a playful smile on his lips. I chuckle and look at Jonah.

"9:30's good.", he says, putting his attention back on the tv. Shawn chuckles as we start to walk to the stairs. "Wait! We need to get a picture of you two! It's your first date!", Marie says, getting up with her phone in her hand. Shawn and I pull out our phones. "Thanks for reminding us, Marie. Do you mind taking some on ours, too?", I ask. "Of course!", she answers.

Shawn puts an arm around my waist and the other in his pocket, while I put a hand on his back. We smile and she snaps the picture.

When we were done taking pictures on each of our phones, we started walking downstairs.

"Shawn, you better have my sister home at 9:30 sharp.", Daniel says walking to his room. "Will do.", Shawn says. "Don't get handsy tonight.", Daniel warns. "Don't worry.", Shawn says blushing. "Also, y'all lied.", Daniel says, as we start walking down the stairs.

"Wait, what?", I ask, walking the stairs I walked down, back up so I can see him. "Y'all lied.", he says. "About what?", I say, confused. "About you two. Clearly something is going on between you.", he says, giving me a small smile and goes into his room.

When we make it downstairs, Zach, Caroline, Christina, Corbyn, Kaylen, and Jack see us. "Date night?", Kay asks us. We both nod in agreement. "Well, I'm not surprised. We all knew it was going to happen eventually.", Christina says. I blush and look down. "Have fun. I assume Daniel, Jonah, and Marie already said you better have her home at a certain time and to not get handsy.", Caroline says. I nod. "And I said I would have her home at 9:30.", Shawn says. "Bye, guys. See you later.", I say as I open the door.

Shawn puts the keys in the ignition and pulls out of the driveway. He places a hand on the steering wheel and one laced through my fingers.

I smile. "I like this.", I say, gesturing to us holding hands.

He looks over at me and I can still see how bright he is smiling even though it is dark in the car. "Tonight is gonna be great. I'm telling you, I couldn't wait to bring you on a date. You deserve better, but this is good for now." "Shawn", I say tracing lines in his hand, "I don't care where we go as long as I'm with you. If I'm with you, I'm happy." He grins at me. "Well, it seems like you are always gonna be happy then, because I'm not leaving your side."
