Knock, knock!

"Shawn, could you please get that?", I ask, getting up from our hotel bed and going to the bathroom. "Sure thing, darling!", he yells from the other room. "Hey, Allie! Hey, Tiff!", I hear. "Oh, lord, I am so not ready for this.", I mutter to myself. I put on a robe and quickly braid my hair. "What am I doing? Allie's gonna fix this. And this.", I say, pointing to my broken out face. Why did my face HAVE to break out the day I walk the red carpet for the first time?

I walk out the bathroom and bedroom, into the living room to see Allie and Tiffany surrounded by what looks like portable boxes of makeup and our outfits in black protection bags. "Hey, guys!", I say, excitedly. "Hey!', they reply in unison. Allie gets up and hugs me.

"Okay, Allie, I'm gonna set up in here. Do you want to set up in the bathroom/bedroom area? Since you actually have to do her makeup." Allie nods. "Sounds good." Allie brings all her boxes into the bedroom and Shawn walks over to me.

"You nervous?", he asks, putting his hands on my shoulders. I nod. "I never get nervous! Well, except for singing in front of people. You would know that.", he nods as I mention that detail, "But, I've never done something like this before." "Well, from personal experience, you will get used to it. It takes time though. The cameras are going to be overwhelming at first but make sure you don't give them weird looks. Always smile.", he says, giving me a smile. "Should I do a peace sign like you always do?", I say holding up my fingers in that position. "That's my signature move. How dare you try to steal it?", he says, putting a hand to his heart, playfully.

"Grace, are you ready?", Allie asks, peeking out the bedroom door. I nod. "See you in a bit.", I say. I hug him, laying my head on his chest and he puts his head on top of mine. "You got this. Don't be worried."

I let go of him and make my way to Allie. She set up her station by the window in the bedroom. She gestures for me to sit in the chair. "Okay, girly. Makeup first, then hair, then outfit change. Are you ready for this?", she asks. "Yup. Let's get this show on the road!"

----------------------

"Okay, two steps done. Ready for the outfit?", Allie asks. "Wait, can I see what I look like?" "Sure! Go take a look in the bathroom. I'll bring your dress." I nod and walk to the bathroom.

I gape at my reflection. "Wow, Allie! You are great at this! So much better than me!" "Girl, quit bluffing! I've seen your instagram. Your looks are killer. Just as good as mine." I blush. "Eh, I guess. I love my hair. It's so simple, but beautiful. I need whatever products you put in it.", I say, looking at the wavy ponytail. Allie chuckles. "Sure thing. Okay, ready for the outfit?" I nod.

I take off my robe (don't be a nasty she has undergarments on) and step into the dress, pulling it up. Allie laces up the string and ties it in the back. I look in the mirror. "Wow. I've never seen myself like this.", I whisper. "You are so beautiful!", She says, hugging me. I pick up my phone from the counter and pose with Allie, snapping the pic. "Thank you.", I whisper as I hug her again. "No problem!", she says, happily. "We need to hang out soon. Without having to actually get work done like this.", I say, gesturing to myself. She nods. "That sounds great. Okay, let me get your shoes."

I walk out of the bathroom and sit on the bed while she gets the shoes. She brings them to me and I gape in recognition. "Are those mine?", I ask. She nods. "How did you get them?" "Shawn said you would be comfortable in these since you have worn them a couple of times." I blush. "Gosh, he knows me so well. I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend.", I say, holding the shoes in my hands, bringing memories back to me from when Shawn and I were dancing to There's Nothing Holding Me Back at the club with his team. Such great memories.
