Chapter 41: Long Before Now

"Grace!", Aaliyah says, as she opens the door to her house. She tackles me in a hug and I laugh. "Thanks, sis.", Shawn says, sarcastically. "Yeah, yeah, missed you I guess. KIDDING! I missed you so much!", she says, hugging Shawn tightly. He smiles and hugs her back.

"Missed you, too, Liyah. Where's mom and dad?", he asks. "In the house. Mom's making spaghetti.", Aaliyah says. "YES!", Shawn says, walking into the house. We follow him in the house and Aaliyah leads the way to the kitchen. "Grace! It's so great to meet you!", Karen says, hugging me. I smile. "It's great to meet you, too. Thank you so much for inviting me to your home.", I responded.

"You are always welcome here.", she says. "Hi, Grace, it's great to finally meet you." Manny, says, hugging me. "It's great to meet you, too.", I say. "The food is ready, so let's eat!", she says. We all head to the dining room, sitting down with our fixed plates.

"So, how have you two been?", Karen asks, pointing to me and Shawn. I blush. "We've been really good. I think we are both really happy.", Shawn says, looking at me and grabbing my hand under the table. I squeeze his hand and nod. "Yeah, we are definitely both really happy.", I say.

"Ew, gross.", Aaliyah says. "Liyah.", Shawn says. "Kidding! I'm super happy for y'all.", she says, laughing. "Do you play jokes on him a lot?", she points her fork at me. "Duh.", I say in an obvious tone. "I already love you. You better keep her.", she says, looking at Shawn. "I plan on it.", he says, kissing my cheek.

"Oh, my gosh, the famous Shawn Mendes's room. The Shawn Mendes.", I say, sarcastically. "In the flesh." "This is where you filmed all of your vines and YouTube videos, real or not real?" "What?", Shawn asks. "Real or not real? Like from the Hunger Games.", I state. He chuckles. "Oh, yeah. I remember that now. Real. Well, half real. I did some at school. But, mostly real.", he says, sitting down on his bed.

"When we were done with dinner Aaliyah asked me if I wanted to go shopping tomorrow.", I say, sitting next to him. "Really? She really wants to get to know you. I think she admires you in some sort of way." I look at him weird. "Wait, what? How?" "Well, you're my girlfriend and she usually doesn't like my girlfriends. Like ever. I don't think she has ever liked any of them. But, she loves you. She loved you even before she met you.", he responds. I blush.

"That's really sweet. I got to admit, I am better than all your other girlfriends.", I say, laughing. "Hey, you don't even really know who I've dated.", he says, trying to defend himself. "Doesn't matter. I'm obviously better.", I say, flipping my hair.

"Yeah, you are.", he says, wrapping his arms around me, kissing me. "Shawn, I think it's weird to make out with you in your parents house.", I laugh. "This isn't the first time this has happened.", he says, smirking. "Oh, Shawn, your bad." He lightly pushes me to where I'm laying down and he is above me. "Oh, darling. We've known that long before now."

I feel like this chapter suckksssssss, but oh well :)

Not gonna lie, I'm excited to finish this book and start on the sequel. It's going to be SO GOOD. so many ideas!
