"Uh, uh, I-I'm Sally!" She yelled trying to get out of her grip.
"Sally? Are you some undercover gem from Homeworld?! Oh, Garnet is gonna flip when she sees this." She said dragging Sally away.
"Hey! Where are you taking me?!" Sally yelled, finally escaping her grip. Sally tried to run off, but the unthinkable happened. The purple girl pulled a long whip from her purple gem. She slung the whip at Sally, wrapping her up in it.
"Yo, P! Get out here!" The girl yelled. Sally looked up and saw a large statue holding a house. A tall, pale girl came running out.
"Oh, my stars! Garnet, come outside!" She said pulling a spear out of her head.
"Ack! Don't hurt me!" Sally yelled.
Suddenly, a tall, red person and a little boy about 3-6 years old came out the door. The red woman summoned gauntlets on her fists and came running to join the others.
"Please! I didn't do anything to you! Don't hurt me!" Sally yelled.
The two other tall people joined the purple girl.
"Who is that and where did you find her?" The red woman asked the purple.
"I was at the doughnut shop when this gem came running at me. I asked her who she was and she said Sally. I think she is an undercover gem from Homeworld trying to hide as a human." The purple girl replied.
"What are you talking about?! I'm just a normal girl named Sally, I did not come from a place called Homeworld, I come from a place called Texas! The only abnormal thing about me is this gem!" Sally yelled.
The three people were obviously confused, but they refused to believe Sally.
"We know you're a gem, and you need to give up and go back to Homeworld!" The red one yelled.
Sally felt a small, faint glow, from her gem, but she wasn't paying any attention. It wasn't even bright enough to be seen, so she didn't care.
"I don't know what you're talking about!"
"LEAVE!" She yelled back. "YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO HOMEWORLD!"
"Grr... I'M NOT FROM HOMEWORLD!!" Her gem glowed brightly, revealing a tall staff with a gem and a ribbon tied around it. The purple girl's whip broke and disappeared. Sally fell to the ground, the staff disappearing.
"RAH!" The red one charged, Sally curled up in a ball and held her arms up.
The red woman suddenly gasped and stopped herself.
Sally's gem was projecting an orange light, showing a memory.
It showed her climbing out of a whole, mumbling incoherently.
Sally watched, curious as to when this happened.
It showed her stumbling around an unknown Kindergarten, tired and dizzy, and not knowing what to do. She wandered for what seemed like a millennia before being found by a family that was on a trip.
The gem dulled and the vision disappeared.
"You... You aren't from Homeworld..." The red woman said. "I... I didn't know..." Her gauntlets disappeared. She reached out her hand for Sally to take. Sally hesitantly breathed out and took it, watching the red woman's face to make sure she wasn't planning anything.
"Oh, my stars. We almost hurt someone innocent..." The pale one mumbled.
"Uh... We're sorry..." The purple one apologized.
"Did you say you're name is Sally?" The red one asked. Sally nodded. "I'm Garnet, this is Pearl." She said pointing to the tall, white one.
"And I'm Amethyst!" The purple one happily yelled pointing her thumb at her chest. "We're the Crystal Gems!"
"What kind of gem are you?" Garnet asked.
"I... Don't know...?" She felt like she was supposed to know it, like it was on the tip of her tongue, but she couldn't think of it.
"You don't know? But... You're supposed to..." Pearl said.
"Well, my doctor said I have amnesia, so I must not be able to remember." Sally said while fumbling with her thumbs.
"Oh, that's not it. Gems can't get sick." Pearl said.
"Um... What are gems...?" Sally asked. The three gems stared at Sally, dumbfounded and thinking that something was definitely wrong with this gem.
"Egh... Gems are..." Amethyst tried explaining.
"Gems are just gems. Our bodies are a manifestation of light and energy coming from out gem. Our gem gets its energy from inside what planet it is made on before coming out of the ground, killing off that part if the Earth, like your gem showed you earlier. Think of it like a hologram," Pearl explained as she made a hologram with her gem, showing off pictures to go with her explanation. "Though if a gem's physical form is hurt badly enough, they will release their form, causing them to poof." Her hologram showed at gem being stabbed by another, causing Sally to flinch. The hologram showed the gem disappearing in a poof and her gem falling to the ground. "When they poof, they put all their energy into regenerating themselves. When a gem is reduced to their gemstone, it can be contained in a bubble or trapped in an object, making it impossible to reform. If Garnet really did hit you, you would've poofed and we would've sent you to the bubble room inside the temple. But as long as the gemstone is not hurt, it will be able to regenerate." Pearl finished explaining.
"What happens to gems if they hurt their gemstone?" Sally asked.
"Uh... Why don't you come inside, and we'll explain everything." Pearl said. Sally nodded and followed them up the stairs and into the building.
It looked like a normal house. A bedroom, a living room, a kitchen. But there was one thing that looked strange.
Sally ran up to the strange platform. It was shiny, and she could see her reflection in it.
"This is the Warp pad, it takes us to gem places all around the world." Amethyst said standing on it.
"Come sit, Sally." Pearl said. Sally sat on the sofa next to Pearl. Garnet sat next to her. Only, she had the little boy on her hair.
"Who's that?" Sally asked looking at him.
"This little cutie pie is Steven." Garnet said picking him up and placing him in her lap.
"Hi, Steven." Sally waved smiling at him. Steven waved, blushing with nervousness. He turned away and hid in Garnet's arm. "So, what happens to gem if their gemstone is hurt?"
"If they're gemstone is cracked, bad things happen to their form. They can even corrupt. But if it's shattered... They cease to be..." Pearl explained.
"Like... They die?" Sally asked, her eyes wide.
"Yes..." Pearl said. Sally couldn't take much more. Even if these people were like her, she felt as if her brain was overwhelmed and would explode from all the information at any minute. She is a rock that popped out of the ground, killing the Earth. She shook her head and stood up.
"Uh... It was very nice to find out I'm a rock and all that other stuff, but..." She laughed nervously walked backwards to the door, making sure no one stopped her. "I gotta go home... My mom will be wondering where I'm at..."
"What? You can't go, you're a gem, you stay with us." Pearl said standing up.
"Uh... Sorry, I gotta go!" Sally ran out the door and down the steps. She kicked up sand as she ran down the beach and back into the city.
She made it back to her apartment. She slung the door opened and ran inside, she then closed it and locked it, remembering one was really strong.
"Uh... Sally? Are you okay?"
"Yes! I'm okay!" Sally turned to her mom. "Mom, I met people who are like me!"
"People who have... Gems?" She asked, her eyes widening.
"Yes..."
