Be happy for the Pearl fan art. I had nothing else.

Steven and Greg we're outside making music about Lapis when a strange and loud noise began playing.

"Must be some feedback." Greg said. When he couldn't fix it, he realized it was coming from the temple. "Hey, Steven, I think it's coming from the temple. Why don't you run up there and see what's going on?"

"Okay!" Steven said. He ran to the temple.

As soon as he opened the door, a lot noise bursted out, causing his ears to hurt.

"What's happening?!" Steven yelled over the noise.

"It's the Wailing Stone! It just activated and we can't get it to stop!" Pearl yelled.

"It won't shut up!" Amethyst yelled. Garnet set it down and summer her gauntlet. She held the button down, and the noise stopped. She slowly lifted her hand from it, and it started again.

Pearl then tried bubbling it. At first, it worked, but then the sound filled up in it and it popped.

Steven stuck his arm in it, and the sound quietened. But then it burst out of his mouth, making a strange noise.

Garnet pushed him away and put a pillow in it. She then surrounded it with pillows, and Steven.

"I don't understand. That thing has been dormant since we found it." Garnet said.

"I haven't heard a Wailing Stone activate since we used them for the rebellion. And I've never heard it sound like that!" Pearl said.

"Someone is trying to send us a message." Garnet said.

"Do you think it's Sally?" Steven asked. The gems got quiet. "It's possible that she could have got Lapis to activate one for her."

"He may be right, you know." Amethyst said.

"Well, if it is coming from Sally or Lapis Lazuli, it would not sound like that." Pearl said.

"Well, then why is it like that?" Steven asked.

"The signal could be far too advanced for the Wailing Stone to process. That would explain the distorted audio." Pearl said.

"Audio? My dad knows audio!" Steven said.

"Greg? Oh, I don't know..." Pearl said.

"Don't whine. Let's try it." Garnet said.

The gems sat by Greg's can and equipment.

"I can't believe you guys need help from me! Well, you've definitely come to the right guy." Greg said sticking a weird sponge looking thing in the Wailing Stone. He began messing with sound equipment, trying to make out the sound and what whoever it was is trying to say.

The sound began turning into an amazing sound, just like music. Then Greg changed it up a little, and it almost sounded like a voice, but then the van battery blew out.

"What happened?! Where's the signal?! It could be Sally!" Pearl said shaking Greg.

"The van battery couldn't take it." Greg said.

"Ugh, I knew this would happen! Greg's equipment couldn't even interface with ancient gem technology." Pearl grumbled.

"Aw, Pearl! You be ready to give up yet! I know you miss Sally! We all do! But if she really doesn't want to be with the others, she'll want to come home!" Steven said.

"Look, we can't give up yet." Greg tried to say. Garnet grabbed the Wailing Stone.

"You tried. You did your best, but we'll find another way." Garnet said jumping away. Pearl and Amethyst joined her. Greg sighed and grabbed his guitar. He walked over to the ocean and sat by it.

"I blew it." He said.

"Aw, dad..." Steven said walking over to him. Greg began to sing a song about the Wailing Stone.

"I could've tamed you, I could've shown that I could depose you from your loud throne.
But in the end, I wasn't good enough. I just showed the gems that I ain't got the stuff!
Oh, oh, Wailing Stone! I tried so hard to fly but I was thrown!
Oh, oh, Wailing Stone! I gotta tell the gems because they should know...
Have a little,
Have a little,
Have a little faith in me!
I just wanted to help, you know,
I have a little
Have a little
Have a little expertise!
I know it's not much, but if it could come in handy, I'd wanna be there...
I think so highly of you...
It just isn't fair that you have so little faith..." He sighed. "Meh, that's a B side."

"Dad, I hate seeing you like this. There's got to be something else we can try." Steven said.

"Uh, I don't know, Steven. I mean, sound and stuff like this, this stuff is my hole world, and if I can't figure this out then... Maybe it isn't even sound..." Greg said.

"But Dad, if it isn't sound, then what else could it be?" Steven asked. He then gasped if realization. "Dad!" He yelled.

"I'm not that far away." Greg said.

"What if it's..." He pointed at his eyes.

"Uh... Magic... Eyeballs...?" He guessed. He then realized what Steven was trying to say. "Oh, my days, it's video."

"We have to tell the gems!" Steven yelled running away.

"Wait for me!" Greg said. They ran inside and burst through the door yelling,

"It's video!"

The gems turned to them.

"Video? You mean the Wailing Stone?" Pearl asked. They nodded. "How do you know that?"

"Let us show you!" Steven said.

* * *

The gems fixed the van while Greg and Steven set up the Wailing Stone.

The screen and sound was garbled at first, but then the strange sound played again.

"Is this it?" Pearl asked.

"Hang on..." Greg said. The screen changed to two familiar faces.

Lapis Lazuli and Sally.

"Steven, if you're listening to this, it's us, Lapis Lazuli and Sally! We need to warn you that a gem is looking for you! She even knew your name!" Lapis said.

"You need to hide. The gem is coming, and she isn't alone!" Sally said.

"Steven, Homeworld is different. So advanced. I can't even understand it! There's no way anything on Earth can stand up next to it! Please don't put up a fight!" Lapis said.

"It will only lead to devastation!" Sally said. The message was cut off there.

"It's Peridot. She must be the one Lapis was talking about." Pearl said.

"And she isn't alone!" Amethyst yelled.

"Lapis and Sally... Do you think they're hurt?" Steven asked.

"I don't know." Garnet said. She walked away. She was upset. She didn't want whatever gems were coming to come. She didn't want Steven hurt. She didn't want anything hurt. She didn't want Sally hurt. All she wanted was to be left alone at the moment.
