The bell went and it was time to go home. Chaz had invited me to his place for some COD but I had to go straight home to Noah and do my essay. Oh and about the essay that I didn't do... I got another detention. That means I have to stay late after school for the next two nights... yay.

Chaz broke me out of my day dream. "Come on. You sure you can't come over for a round of COD?", he begged as he pulled up at my house.

I sighed. "Sorry Chaz. I really can't. I'll most likely be grounded for getting two detentions... like I have a life anyway."

Chaz rolled his eyes. "Well you have to come on Friday night. Ryan already said he will be there."

I stepped out the car. "Sure. I'll be there... but it's only Monday so plans could change.", I said and shut the door.

Chaz sped off down the street and I started walking to my front door. I was half way there when Noah ran outside and clinged onto my leg.

"DADDY!, he yelled and wouldn't let go.

"Hey you! Can I have my leg back?", I joked and tried to pry him off me.

He shook his head. I rolled my eyes and just walked, very slowly, inside with Noah still attahed to me.  Mum came around the corner and put her hands on her hips and smiled.

"Looks like you've got your hands full. Or should I say legs full?", she joked and I gave a sarcastic laugh.

"Right. I have homework to do so can you, like, get the pliers and get him off me?", I asked and tried to pull Noah off my leg.

Mum laughed. "Come here Noah.", she said and picked him up, resting him on her hip.

I thanked her, kissed Noah's forehead and ran upstairs where I had to start my essay and do all the other crap the teachers wanted.

After three hours of maths, English, music and drama homework and many distractions, I was almost finished. I gave up and put it all back into my bag. I was starving and it was almost 6:30pm. I made my way down stairs where mum was just plating up dinner.

"Oh look who's joined us. The beast of the mysterious bedroom.", she joked.

I rolled my eyes. "Where's Noah?", I asked noticing he wasn't in his highchair.

Mum shrugged. "Probably still in front of the t.v."

I went into the lounge room and found Noah sitting on his blanket with his eyes glued to the wiggles.

"Boo!", I yelled and grabbed him off the floor, hanging him upside-down.

He giggled. "Again! Again!", he screamed.

"No, I can't cause we gotta have dinner.", I told him and carried him into the kitchen.

When mum noticed me holding him upside-down her eyes widened.

"JUSTIN! Don't do that! Put him in his chair.", she gasped.

I did as I was told. "He didn't mind.", I argued and she rolled her eyes.

"Hes three. He doesn't know the difference between right and wrong.", she told me and placed a bowl in front of Noah, " But as for you..."

"Feed me!", Noah screamed which cut mum off half sentence.

"You're three. You can do it.", I told him and mum placed a plate in front of me.

"NO I CAN"T!", he complained and flicked food at me which landed on the floor. It splatted everywhere and Noah laughed.

Mum sighed and I was getting angry. "You going to pick that up?", I asked him sternly. I wasn't expecting him to say yes but it was worth a shot.

He shook his head. I knew he would do that.

"Fine. No lollies for you tonight.", I told him and he crossed his arms across his chest.

Mum was wiping up the food he had thrown before getting up and eating her dinner.

"Don't get all grumpy at me. You threw the food at me mister.", I argued and put a piece of chicken in my mouth.

"Do you know what I did when you acted liked this as a child? I'd put you in your room.", mum butted in.

I sighed. "I can't do that. It's dark up there.", I complained.

Mum just shook her head and went back to eating. I turned of Noah. "You good now?", I asked him.

He shook his head. Why do I have to have such a stubborn child?

"You were a stubborn child when you were younger Justin. Like father like son.", she laughed.

She had just answered my question and I hadn't even said it outloud.

I shook my head. "You know what, I'm not hungry.", I siad and picked up my plate and put it on the sink.

I walked over to Noah and sat down. I started feeding him and mum sighed.

"You shouldn't give him everything he wants."

" I know. But I am too tired right now to argue.", I told her and put another spoonful of mashed potatoe in Noah's mouth.

"That's what you get when you have a kid.", Mum said and looked down realising what she just said.

"I'm sorry Justin." , she apologised.

I nodded. " It's all cool."

I got up and put Noah's bowl in the sink.

" I'm going to bed.", I said and walked up stairs.

I couldn't sleep. Noah was crying, mum was yelling and I had so many things on my mind. I just layed face down on my bed and tried to block out the noise. Eventually Noah must have fallen asleep because he wasn't crying and mum wasn't yelling. I was enjoying the peace and quiet until there was a knock on the door.

"Can I come in?!", Mum yelled through the door.

" Yeah sure, come in."

Mum walked in and sat on the end of my bed.

"When you refused to give Noah up for adoption you knew that it would be hard. I had warned you but you still refused. It's too late now Justin.,You made your choice and you have to live with it."

I looked up at her. "You know what!? I never wanted to give him up and I still don't. I don't regret keeping him and I never will.. Even though I get numerous detentions, are sleep deprived, don't have a life and  recently failing English I still love him, always!", I yelled getting frustrated.

Mum froze with her eyes wide. She's not used to me going off at her like that.

" You're failing English?", she asked completely ignoring the rest I said.

I sighed. " Um, yeah I am. I can't get my work finished on time and the teacher said if I fail another assignment I have to re-do year 12. You know what's unfair!? There's a girl in my class with a kid and she uses it as an excuse for everything! She get's extensions on everything too! What do I get?! An F on my report!"

" You're doing the right thing. I know you don't need extra pressure in life but I have to ground you... until you get up to date with all your homework...", Mum told me and stood up and left the room, shutting the door behind her.

" I love you too!!!", I yelled and threw a pillow at the door.

AARRRGGGGH  I was feeling so stressed. I needed a guys night out but I can't if i'm stuck inside doing homework every night of of this miserable year.  I looked at my clock. It was 12:36am and I had to get up for school in 6 and a half hours.  Just great!
