Chapter Nine. Blackmail

The next day was Thursday and everyone was excited for the holidays as tomorrow was the last day of school for the semester. Some teachers have decided to be annoying and set homework through the holidays just to be mean... screw them because I ain't doing no work!

I have been keeping up with all my subjects and handing in all my assignments on time (though that won't change my thoughts about homework in the holidays), so mum has just 'forgotten' about all the detentions I had. Tonight is the last night I have to stay late after school to complete the detentions and i'm so happy about that because there's this kid that's always there and likes to sit behind me and watch me write lines over my shoulder... he creeps me out  little.

"What you thinking about?", Jessicah asked, breaking me out of my daydream. 

I looked up at her. "What? Oh right... nothing. Just excited about the school holidays.", I lied, as I wasn't really in the mood for talking. 

She smiled. "I can't wait until next week! My aunty is taking me and my brother to Paris! I don't know why though... she's just one of those 'live life to the fullest' people.", she shrugged and fiddled with a piece of hair.

I laughed. "I wish I could go to Paris. Well maybe somewhere fun, like, Disney Land.", I grinned. 

Jessicah roled her eyes. "Don't you have any romantic fibres in your body?", she joked.

I bit my lip. "Sure. I have heaps! I'm probably the most romantic person in this school. Wait... the most romantic person i the world!", I shouted out loud and most people could hear me. 

Jessicah sighed. "You might as well add universe to the list while you're at it big shot.", she laughed and punched my arm. 

"Great Idea!", I yelled and looked around to find Chaz. 

"What you looking for?", she asked me with a crease on her forehead. 

I shook  my head. "Just trying to find Chaz. You seen him since the start of lunch break?", I asked her. 

She bit her lip. "The last time I saw him, he was hanging out around the girls bathroom.", she laughed. 

I smiled. "He really doesn't want to keep his girlfriend, does he?", I  joked and pulled an apple out my bag. 

Jessicah giggled. "I don't know why she hasn't broken up with him yet... he's such a flirt!", she shouted.

"She likes his dirty mind.", I joked. 

Jessicah snickered. "Who would like that... oh wait, I just got it. JUSTIN!", she screamed. 

I laughed. "I actually didn't mean it COMPLETELY like that.",  reassured her and took a bite from my apple. The bell for the end of lunch rang.

"You know you did.", she argued as she did something on her phone.

I rolled my eyes and turned my head to find Chaz and his girlfriend, Abbey, walking towards us.  I smiled as Jessicah and I both watched them giggle and flirt with each other the whole way to our table. I don't even want to think about what they were talking about.

"Where you been? You missed all of lunch.", I asked and threw my apple core at the bin and it bounced off the side and into the bin. 

Chaz shrugged. "We were busy. We had some school stuff to do... you know teachers.", he said and chuckled.

Jessicah and i just looked at each other and burst out laughing  

"Right! Because that's believeable.", Jessicah laughed. 

"What? It's true!", he yelled and crossed his arms over his chest. 

I shook my head. "Well it doesn't matter now. We have class and you know how mad Mrs Jones gets if we're late.", I said and slipped my bag over my shoulder. 

Chaz sighed and siad goodbye to Abbey and Jessicah before following me to english. We just beat the teacher into class and it turns out we had a relief teacher anyway, Mrs Jones must be away.

The teacher didn't make us do anything. We all just sat there and talked, not even taking our books out once, while the teacher sat at the desk on her phone. 

Chaz and I were talking about the holidays and our plans for it. Neither of us had anything interesting on so we were thinking about having a two week COD marathon.  We were halfway through planning what food we wanted to live on and Jacinta, the girl who knows my secret, came up behind me. 

"Hey Justin. Hi Chaz.", she greeted us.

"Oh hey Jacinta. What's up?", I asked. She doesn't usually talk to me.

Chaz just stayed quiet as the tone she used when she said his name was scary. 

"Oh nothing. I just have a favour to ask.", she said and twisted a bit of hair around her finger.

I sighed. "i'm sorry, I don't do the whole favour thing.", I told her and turned back to Chaz. 

Jacinta put her hands on her hips and sighed. "Lets make this clear. You're going to help me, unless you have no problem about the whole school knowing about your little secret... daddy.", she said with a smirk.

Chaz's mouth dropped open and so did mine. 

"You wouldn't!", I asked in shock. 

She smiled. "Oh wouldn't I?", she replied and crossed her arms over her chest. 

Chaz tapped me on the shoulder. "Dude, I think she's serious. Give the girl what she wants!", he said and looked up at her face. 

"I know she's serious. She's doing the whole serous thing girls do! Help me! I don't do favours... i'm too lazy!", I whispered.

Chaz rolled his eyes. "Well, why don't you see what the favour is before you freak out?", he told me and shrugged.

Oh right... I don't even know what it is yet. I turned back to Jacinta, who still ad her arms crossed over her chest.  I grinned up at her.

"What's the favour?", I asked her, hoping it was something simple. 

She smiled. "Tonight at 4pm I need you to meet with someone at the park down the road and I need you to give them something.", she told me and bit her lip. 

"Why can't you do it? You've got legs.",  I complaned.

Jacinta shook her head. "I wont have legs if they see me. Which is why you have to give them the envelope.", she explained. 

"So you're making me give total strangers that will most likely beat me up an envelope which I have no idea what's in it? Sounds fun...", I said sarcastically.

Jacinta laughed. "All that will be in the envelope is some money which I owe some people. Yes those people are a little violent but it's nothing a strong guys like you can handle.", she said and patted me on the back.

Chaz burst out laughing. "Justin?! Strong?! You have to be kidding me! You're crazy lady! Justin got hit by a leaf and he fell backwards!", he yelled through the classroom. 

I shoosed him. "You're not helping things!"

Chaz stopped laughing and bit his lip. "Well she is crazy... what do you think the money is for? She probably bought some illegal stuff, you know.", he whispered into my ear. 

I rolled my eyes. "I'm sure it's just some money for a charity or something. She's not criminal.", I argued. 

Chaz laughed again. "You might as well tell me Santa Claus isn't real if you're saying things that aren't true.", he whined.

"Um Chaz. Santa isn't real...", I told him and sighed. 

He looked up at me. "WHAT!? I've got to talk to my lawyer! Chaz out!", he yelled and left the room without being dismissed.

Anyway, back to Jacinta's and her crazy favour.
