I just bit my lip and obeyed. I just turned into the parking lot and got out without another word. We walked in silence until we got to the door. As she opened it she whispered to me.
"Grab my hand and smile!"
I hesitated but took her hand and plastered a fake smile on my face. She lead us over to a family that was sitting at a table and when they saw her they half smiled.
"Jacinta." The man said with a nod.
Jacinta smiled. "Hi father. Hi mother." She said and nodded towards them both as she said it.
Her dad looked at me and stared me down. He was creeping me out. "Who's this?"
Jacinta bit her lip. "This is Justin, my boyfriend."
Her mum smiled and her dad just keep staring me up and down. Something on me must have caught his eye as he has his eyes fixed on my chest. I looked down and noticed he was staring at the wooden cross hanging around my neck.
"Nice to meet you Justin. It's about time Jacinta was with someone that will do her some good." He said and turned away to talk to his wife.
Jacinta was blushing as she led me to the played ground where her little sister was playing. "Abigail! Come here!" She yelled out to her sister.
A young girl turned around and when she spotted Jacinta her eyes lit up. "JACINTA!" She yelled and ran over to her wrapping her arms around her waist.
Jacinta laughed and bent down to hug her sister. They looked so much alike. They both had bright green eyes and long wavy Brown hair. They were both small and if it wasn't for the age difference I would have thought they were twins.
Abigail looked up at me and smiled. "Who's this?"
"I'm Justin." I told her and smiled back at her.
"Are you her boyfriend?" She asked and blushed at the same time.
Jacinta laughed. "Yes he is."
Abigail walked up to me and crossed her arms. "Take care of my sister you." She said in her scariest voice before running off to play with her friends.
Jacinta turned to me. "Yeah, cute aye?"
I nodded. "She looks just like you! It's scary."
Jacinta looked over to her sister and sighed. "Yeah, we both look like my mother. My father left me when I was 13. So Abigail is my half sister. Her real father is my step father."
I bit my lip. "So that man in there that you called father is your step dad?"
She nodded. "Yep."
It was fascinating to know more about her. Maybe this is why she, well let's just call it, bullies me. I was staring at her and daydreaming at the same time and she snapped me out of it.
"JUSTIN! Wakey wakey!" She said and clapped her hands.
I shook my head, "Oh sorry. Daydreaming again."
She laughed. "You look really scary when you do that."
"Well you're gonna have to get used to it." I laughed with her.
She sighed. "We should go inside. My parents will want to talk to us." She turned around to go inside but I stopped her.
"Just one question, why do you call them mother and father? Why not just mum and dad?" I was curious since she had said it.
I could tell she was thinking about that question. "Um, I guess it's because they are strict so I try to make everything I do around them good enough. If that makes sense."
