Chapter 10- Plan in the Midst
"Take your seats everyone!" The teacher yelled over the chatter of people piling into the class. Asad had managed to find the class easily. There were around twelve people in the class; all who were shape-shifters. Asad searched over the people to try and see if Leona might had joined the class. He looked around the back and saw a lot unfamiliar faces and then he looked behind him and in the back he spotted Leona. She seemed not to have seen him at all and was drawing something in a book. Asad tried to trance his eyes to see the image she was drawing but then the teacher began talking. "Now in this class you will learn about your ability to shape-shift. Before we get into all of that, we will go around the room telling your names and shape-shifting ability," The teacher said pointing to the nearest person to her.
"Me? Oh, I'm Jordan and I shape-shift into a, a- goat," Jordan said shyly.
"Goat, hmm, interesting," The teacher said scratching down something on a piece of paper. As they went around the room Asad found some people's shape-shifting ability to be something great and dangerous. Others seemed to be the average house cat or a bird. But Asad couldn't keep his eyes off of Leona when she spoke. It was as if she was speaking right to him. He loved her voice.
"You," The teacher pointed at him shaking Asad out of his daze.
"I'm Asad and I shape-shift into a cougar," Asad said proudly.
"Nice," The teacher said looking down at the paper. The rest of the class was the teacher going on about what they were going to be learning about and a little about herself. It was clear that she was a shape-shifter herself, but Asad didn't know exactly what it was.

"How was your class?" Septer asked across the table as they ate lunch. Derick and Alessia were sitting next to them talking about who knows what.
"Wh- oh good," Asad said looking around at the people getting food.
"Are you looking for someone?" Septer asked taking a bite of her lunch.
"Yeah actually," Asad said turning to face her. Septer smirked.
"Is it a girl?" Septer said laughing. Asad scratched the back of his head.
"Yeah," He muttered.
"What's her name?" Septer asked leaning in towards him.
"Leona. She's a shape-shifter too, except she's a cheetah," Asad smiled.
"Whoa, rawr," Septer smiled taking another bite of her lunch. Asad spotted her sitting down and was apparently staring at her for a while because he didn't even hear Septer say anything.
"GO ON!" Septer said pointing to her.
"Oh, what?" Asad asked shaking his head.
"Go over there and talk to her. It's not gonna help if you just stare at her like a creep!" Septer laughed.
"Right. But I can't, lunch is pretty much over," Asad pointed at the few people getting up.
"If you don't talk to her at lunch when will you?" Septer asked crossing her arms.
"I'll talk to her when I see her next time," Asad replied back lifting his chin.
"And what if you don't see her again tonight? When will you tomorrow?" Septer asked shrugging her eyebrows. Asad frowned.
"Fine, I'm going," Asad said standing up. He breathed in enough courage to go over and talk to her. His footsteps felt out of place and his heart beat went pumping. Is this sweat? Asad thought whipping his forehead. He turned to see Septer watching him smiling. She gave him a thumbs up and Asad turned to face Leona.
