Chapter 18-

"What?" He asked as he was pinned down. He couldn't move, not only physically, but mentally. He felt betrayed.

Kenna began opening the doors to the back of the flatbed truck as she pulled out ropes. Suur stood by Leona like he owned her. She looked lost, but Asad felt so betrayed. When things looked like they were all over something happened. At first it was the sound of a distant car driving, but then it became louder and louder until two cars were heading towards them in full speed.

"Get him in the trunk!" Kenna screamed as the men tied loose knots around his legs. He was just about thrown into the back of the pickup as the tailgate shut loud. Asad looked up and saw the face of one the drivers; Septer.

As the truck's tires spun furiously in the dirt, it began to speed off. Asad tried to hold on, but since he was bound he could hardly move. The two cars blocked the road as the truck then began backing in reverse. It's tired screeched again as they headed down the other end of the road. Septer along with Alessia and Derick, in the second car, were riding close to the truck. The faster Kenna went, the faster they drove too.

The road seemed to be leading to an old construction zone in the middle of no where. Asad tried to move to the tailgate to look for the two cars following. Then the road became bumpy as Asad braced himself against the floor. He looked to see they were going up. But they were not only heading upward, but also heading on an unfinished mix master! The roads dead ended in some places, while others looked very unsteady. As they went up and up, Asad realized there was no railing at all!

The road creaked so loud that Asad hardly realized that Alessia was riding alongside them. She was close to the truck as they road along. Derick opened the window and crawled out of the car into the back of the truck.

"Derick, I thought you were on Kenna's side," Asad said as he began to untie his legs. The ropes were pulled together too tight to unknot, so he pulled out a knife.

"Let's just say I know Kenna's ways. I was finding out about her plan all along and that's how I knew you were here," Derick smiled. The knife began cutting as the ropes cut loose. Derick went to the began cutting the rope on his other legs, but then all the sudden Alessia's car slowed down. Her tired had been shot! Gunshots rounded through the air as Derick and Asad ducked. The truck swerved and turned around facing a ledge. It creaked as the truck began swaying back and forth. The engine roared as the tires began spinning.

"Hurry!" Asad said as Derick began cutting the ropes again. It was almost a four story drop as the truck's tires then began rubbing on concrete. It sped off as the truck had gotten back onto the road and was now descending downward. Septer's car was now far behind.

Then the ropes were cut as Asad stood up in the truck. Derick looked behind them to see Septer now gaining on them. Gunshots now blew again as the two of them ducked. Septer was now feet away from the truck as Derick prepared himself to jump. The truck was yet going it's full speed, so it was an unlikely jump.

"Asad you have to jump!" Derick yelled over the noise of tires rolling and the wind getting caught in their faces.

"Jump?" Asad yelled back. Septer had a small trunk in the back that was open to the outside, but it seemed so unlikely that they would make it. "Couldn't we wait until they stop?" He yelled. Derick shook his head.

"They're not going to stop," He yelled back. Then Derick descended from the truck and landed on the top of the car. He slide backwards into the trunk and motioned him to come. Asad panicked as the truck began to speed up. Septer motioned him to come as he swayed his tail back and forth in worry. "You have to jump Asad!" Derick yelled.

"Just jump!" Septer yelled as well. Asad built up the courage and suddenly jumped. His impact with the car was not too harsh since he landed on his feet, like most cats. The car began braking and Asad slowly sat in the back with Derick.

The truck was going fast on the incline and it seemed they had lost control! Even though they were going at such a fast speed, they took precaution to the ending road. It was as if the unfinished mix master had stopped mid-way and it was a total cliff! Kenna suddenly jumped out of the truck along with Leona and Suur, who landed painfully on the concrete. The truck fell down the cliff with silence then a crash. Dust puffed through the air as soon fire inflamed what was left of the now crushed truck. It was only bolts and metal pieces now.

Although, not everyone landed smoothly. Kenna had a nasty cut on her arms as did Suur. Leona only seemed to have only a few scratches even though she was all fur by now, which could be the reason she didn't land so harshly than the rest.

"Stay where you are," Derick said to Kenna as he got out of the truck. Septer looked angry. She had been through the most out of all of them. She had dealt with Kenna for such a long time, it was clear that she wanted Kenna to be stopped. Alessia soon came running behind them. Even though she had a flat in her car, that didn't stop her from seeing the penalty Kenna deserved.

Kenna looked up at the four of them standing over her. For once she didn't have a smirk on her face, or was even had an evil smile. Sitting there in all she had done, it seemed to be worth nothing. But yet somehow she thought maybe it could not be over. She stood vitally and squinted her eyes as if she had pride still in her.

Suur suddenly takes a step towards them. In all his scratches and bruises he still seemed to have a since of pride about him.

"This is Kenna's fight," Derick said crossing his arms.

"You think I won't defend her?" Suur asked crossing his arms as well. Asad exchanged confused looks with Alessia and Septer.

"If I recall correct, she was the one that threatened to kill you," Derick pointed out raising one eyebrow."

"She was just saying that. Besides, leave our principal out of this," Suur said stepping up closer to Derick.

"Don't leave Kenna out of this! She did this to all of us! She did it all for herself!!" Derick yelled. He was becoming more angry. Alessia swallowed as she patted his back to calm him down.

"I bet you don't even know your powers Derick! Who are you? A kid?" Suur laughed.

"A kid, really?" Asad mumbled under his breathe. Alessia could sense their friction and acted out.

"Suur quite egging him on!" She demanded. Suur bent down and picked up a rock on the ground. He gripped it tight enough that his hand shook. It began to turn a neon green as it came from his hand.

"Acid," Leona whispered. She seemed afraid all at once, but didn't do anything. She was like a shadow now, only a cheetah. Derick suddenly closed his eyes. Alessia shook her head as Septer stepped back.

All the sudden the sun dimmed a little as clouds hovered over the sun. Derick breathed in and the sky became darker. He was almost now glowing as he opened his eyes to reveal his black looking eyes. Suur looked a little intimidated, but he was trying to hide it.

"So you're talent is that you can breathe, hah nice," Suur laughed as he stood ready to throw his acid rock.

"Stop egging him on," Alessia said again now through clenched teeth. She turned to Septer who had already septered in a matter of minutes. Derick took a his hand and suddenly a ball of fire appeared.

"I do have powers," Derick said before he lunged the fireball at Suur. He dodged it as it fell down the cliff. The bridge was sable enough to keep them up, but it was shaking back and forth. Suur stood back up in shock and tired throwing the acid rock at him. Derick hit it back with another fire ball. Now Suur looked absolutely terrified.
