Chapter 14-

Asad tried to clear his thoughts. He tried to remember what had happened last night, but everything seemed so foggy. He tried to open his eyes, but yet he was merely half asleep as it was.

"Leona," Asad muttered sitting up remembering the trauma of last night. "Leona!" He gasped opening his eyes to find he was sitting in an office room. It was light outside and the last thing he could remember was seeing Leona limp in the back of his mind. Only, he couldn't exactly remember why. He walked over to the door and turned the nob to find it locked. Shaking it harder was pointless. It was as if it was bolted shut. He looked around the room to see a clock reading 4 o'clock. "I slept, all day?" He asked himself.

Asad looked towards the windows and found one opened. He quickly climbed through and began trying to remember what had happened last night. Leona, Leona and there was someone else. Who was it, that guy, uh. Asad's thoughts stuttered. Suur! That's who it was! Asad remembered. Running around the side of the building, he ran into someone, pushing them down.

"Watch where you're going!" Alessia burst then turning to see Asad she gasp. "Asad? What's wrong?" She asked. Asad looked at her as he eyes turned grey.

"...Leona," Asad could only get out. Alessia nodded as Asad helped her up. "I, uh...lost her," He said looking down. He had never been so emotional, but yet now he was about to cry. What is wrong with me? Asad asked himself.

"Asad," Alessia said as he looked up at her. "are you, crying?" She asked looking concerned. Asad whipped his eyes onto his sleeve. It had been a long night. That was when he stumbled to the ground. "Asad!" She yelled. He shook his head and buried his head into his arms. I'm a wreck! Asad thought.

"Alessia," Asad said still buried in his arms. "I-" He said. Suddenly she grabbed his chin and bent down to him.

"Look at me Asad. Pull yourself together! You may be upset now but is that going to help anyone?" She told him. "This is the time when Leona needs you the most and you need to help her. You won't be alone. I'll help you," She ends with a whisper. Asad nods and stands up.

"Sorry," He mumbles. Alessia shakes her head.

"It's alright, now you go and look for her and I'll go get help," She said turning and running off. Asad turns to the entrance of the school and takes off. Not knowing exactly where she could be, he decides to risk it. He knew where Kenna would be. She couldn't win now. Not with Leona. Not now.

He grabs the keys to his car and revs the engine. Backing up, he speeds out of the parking lot towards the highway. Taking frequent heavy breathes of air, he controls the fact of him being still tired. Even though he may not know Leona that well, he knows Kenna. And Kenna would try to do what ever it took to do what she wants. She took Septer and Alessia and even Derick. They were all victims and now Leona was a victim. And whoever Suur was, he was going to pay as well. He might just be another allie to Kenna, but he was Asad's enemy now. She couldn't always have the upper hand. Justice had to be made! Even though Asad didn't know what Suur's 'talent' or power was, he knew he couldn't beat his power. He was cougar for goodness sake's!

Ever since he found out about his power, he was a boy that people stayed away from. No one could even date Asad because if he kissed he was shape shift. It was pointless to even try and girls to like him. He had kept it a secret for a while before he knew Septer or Alessia. He had even loved a girl. She didn't know his secret. He avoided biting his lip around her even though it was almost impossible. But then she kissed him that one day in the cabin and he shape shifted. He didin't even have time to explain before she drove off.

Asad had felt alone. He felt so different. But then he met Septer and Alessia and Derick. They were all different. They all knew what he knew. They all could understand and feel the same way. All of those memories of being alone and forgotten had disappeared into a new horizon when he met them. And then he went to this school and met Leona.

Leona was so much different than any girl he had ever met before. She understood him more than anyone he had met. She was perfect for him. She was his girl. She was his cat. Just like him they were both cats and they both understood what it was like. He loved her. More than that he was going to go find her in a place he couldn't be sure she was.

All he could be sure of was Kenna had taken her. Who else would it be? She was the enemy.

**********

The sunlight crept through the windows of Asad's car making it seem like a beautiful day, but this was way less than a beautiful day. It hadn't taken very long to reach the place where he knew Kenna would be; under the abandoned bridge. He had heard from Alessia and Septer that this was clearly the spot where she took all the 'talented' people.

Parking about half a mile away, he turned off the engine and began walking. It seemed to be in the middle of a forest with many different varieties of plants that were likely to harm him. Passing through vines and around trees and as sticks got caught upon his legs, he reached a fence. It was tall, defiantly, and he knew he couldn't climb it. Well, as a human he couldn't. But if he turned into a cougar than he would be likely to be caught unless Kenna didn't know it was him.

Never the less, he bit his lip and transformed. It had been a while since he had turned before, but he was very familiar. As he changed he heard voices, so he ran and hid. Still waiting to be unseen, he waited until the cost was clear to climb the fence.

"What if she hates me?" A male voice said. It was distant, but Asad could make it out. It was Suur. "Of course I know that she would hate me, well, because I'm on the team with the- bad guys," Suur gushes taking a seat on an old  tree stump.

Who is he talking to? Asad asked himself. Is he, talking to himself?

"I just, couldn't be the one to do it! She had to take my place," Suur whispered. Now this is just weird, Asad thought shaking his head. Asad couldn't just wait around until he was finished having his pity party. He needed to act now!

Thinking of Leona's danger, he began walking towards the fence to climb. Suur was looking down at his lap, so Asad took that as a time to charge. Scaling the wall, his claws swiftly climbed quick as he made it to the top of the large fence. Then he stopped as Suur looked up and squinted his eyes. Does he see me? Asad asked himself.

Suur stands up and slowly walks over towards the fence where Asad is hiding above. Suur bends down to see Asad's ripped clothes laying on the ground.

"What the?" Suur asks. I knew I should had hid them! Asad thought as he waits for the perfect time to charge. As Asad tries to steady his balance, Suur is just squatting there like a statue looking at his ripped clothes. Suddenly Suur reaches for the wire and grips it. It seems to be heated up and melts away turning weird shades of green! Suur reaches for the clothes and looks at them closely. Suur's power is, acid?! Asad thought.

The fence is now wobbly due to the hole in the bottom and Asad is bracing for his life. It was now at this time that Asad leaped down, hitting the ground with maximum force casing Suur to immediately turn around. His eyes get wide as he drops the ripped cloth in his hand. He looks at him with fear and then anger, that was when they began to fight.
