She begged and pleaded,
but he still went.
He loved and hated,
and he still left.
She gave him everything,
so he had to leave.
She broke his barriers,
so he had to repair them back,
but the barriers were made of silver,
and he was just a nightchild being burned to his death.
There was no repairing,
only lost memories,
only forgotten kisses,
only laughter replaced with frowns,
only happiness replaced with bitterness,
and only him left without me,
never the other way around.
"CALLIE!" Alex's faint voice yelled from downstairs.
"What?" I screamed back so she could hear me.
"Vincent's here!"
Great. It'd been three weeks since I kissed him at the graduation party and I was not really feeling the whole conversation we were about to have. I thought he wouldn't have remembered it. I wasn't thinking properly when it happened. It was out of hatred that I kissed him, nothing else mattered but making my lost boy's voice rejecting me in the back of my head dissapear, evaporate from my mind.
I sat my journal down on my bed and looked down at my feet as I headed towards the creaky stairs.
"Callie," Vincent leaned on the door frame and I notice Ale roll her eyes as she walked towards me and the staircase.
"You're an idiot," she whispered to me. You think I know that already?!
"Vincent? Why are you here?" I furrowed my brows.
"Let's take a ride over to the music store." He wore a tight, light gray t-shirt that exposed his pecks like two plump trophies.
"Why? What are you up to?" I narrowed my eyes and cross my arms over my chest.
"You're the one that kissed me. I should be asking you that question. Now don't be afraid frittering butterfly," he laughed and walked back onto the steps, heading towards his jeep.
I felt cheated, like if I went with him I was at a loss, but if I stayed here, I wasn't going to know his proper conversation with me. So, I went with him in my sleep shorts that were blue with a light blue satin bow on the front, slippers kept my feet warm and my black t-shirt had belonged to Harry.
"What are you wearing?" he asked me as I buckled myself in in his lifted vehicle.
"You woke me up," I kept a plain face.
"It's 2 in the evening," he chuckled and reached across the car to put his hand on my thigh. I forced it away and gave him a dirty look. "Whoa! I thought you would like that. Didn't mean to make you all manic."
"Manic?" I laughed astounded and dropped my mouth open. "Sorry Vincent, but you're a little notorious to take advantage over me."
"Is that so? I don't recall ever taking advantage of you," he played dumb. Thank God we were almost at the shop. I could see the lit up sign on the front window saying it was open.
