"Harry," Callie sobbed. "Is she someone you want? Because I totally understand. She's so much prettier than me. I get it. I really do."

"Do you hear yourself?!" I yelled. She sounded fucking ridiculous. Has she ever seen her smile? Or the way her eyebrows come together when she reads. Then her laugh. The glorious laugh I use to listen for in class or in the hallways.

"Whatever," she opened the car door and flinched when I grabbed her arm. Shit, she really is afraid of me...

"I didn't come on to Alicia," I tried to say as heartfelt as I could. She had to hear the meaning behind my words. "And...I'm sorry-."

"Whatever! I don't care anymore! All you do is hurt me, Harry! Do you even know half the things you've put me through?!" she was going to let me have it. Then again I don't blame her.

"I didn't come onto her..." I spoke again and looked out the window of my side seeing Callie's mom come out the front door of the house.

As she knocked on the drivers side window, I rolled it down.

"Hey, Callie you feeling better?" she asked as she looked over our situation.

"Yeah right now I am. Harry came back because I wanted him to take me to go see Alicia," Callie faked a smile and grabbed my wrist to hold in front of her mother. We were putting on a fake show.

"Alright. I'll see you two for dinner I suppose," her mom smiled at her gorgeous daughter and gave me a wink before she went inside again.

"Take me to Alicia right now," the dainty girl to my right spoke harshly on the verge of tears.

I put the car in drive and headed to the beach where I knew her brother's would spot us. Once we were parked Callie looked at me and I could see her anxiety and worry. She really thinks I hit on Alicia.

"Tell me what happened..." her chin quivered.

"Callie," I reached up to touch her face but she looked away so my hand wouldn't meet her skin. Sighing heavily, I began my story. I claimed every last detail of what happened an hour ago on the beach with her friends. Or her supposed friends. I wasn't sure if she believed me or not but she got out of the car and I followed after her like a lost puppy.

"Are they down this way?" Callie asked angrily.

"Yeah. What are you doing?" I spoke as my feet hit the hot dry sand.

"Going to see what Alicia's side of the story is," she eyed me carefully. She put her hair up into a bun on top of her head and I saw another mark I must have put on her.

"Callie wait!" I grabbed her elbow and she stopped to turn around.

She waited patiently for my answer while my throat was closed full of emotion. How do I make up for something like this? She will never forgive me. I wouldn't forgive me if I was her. Shit, she probably has even more marks all over her than the huge one I made on her neck.

"I didn't mean to-," my voice cracked as my hand reached towards the spot I purposefully caused last night all in the heat of the moment.

"It's fine..." she pulled her sweater collar up to hide the purple bruise.

"No it's not. I'm so sorry. You've asked me before not to put these on you and I did anyway. I-I am so sorry babe," I pushed away the material and softly kissed the mark as she tilted her head to the side allowing me. "And I'm sorry for these." I lifted her hands up and kissed her bruised wrists. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have been that hard on you last night. I know you're fragile and I-I..." Emotion was building inside me. The same type as the time I saw her in the car accident and I pulled her out of the vehicle all bloodied. But this time I broke her. It wasn't from some idiot not paying attention. I caused this.
