Chapter 2: Demonstrations

I sit near the back, sunglasses still on, and the other sit around me, knowing I am tired of people staring at me.

The class slowly fills in, the usual first day of school slump. Everybody is still whispering about me coming today, but I'm hidden in the back so they don't even see me listening. The bell rings, and everything hushes as teacher walks in

"Alright class, as you know, I am Mr. Eaton. As usual, I am starting with introductions. Could I have, Nita First? Name and powers please."

A girl with booty shorts and a crop top steps to the front, twirling her hair. "Hey everyone, I'm Nita, and I have two powers. I can levitate."

Her feet lift off of the ground, and she smiles, "I also have the gift of beauty."

Before she can't do anything, Mr. Eaton speaks up,"Real powers only Nita. Next is Peter."

She pouts walking back to her seat.
Peter stands up, going to the front of the classroom. He doesn't look awful. "Hey, I'm Peter Hayes. I have wind." He says creating a little tornado.

He's a little bit cute, but by looking at him close enough, I can tell he is most likely the man-whore of the school. Lynn leans over to me, "He is."

I look over, confused, "I didn't say that out loud."

She grins, "Mind reader."

I nod, understanding. Next are a few I don't care much about. The first was some guy named Eric, who could climb up walls. Then there was Molly, who could teleport and write in the air, and lastly Lauren, who looked nice enough, and had wings and the ability to create anything from thin air. That must be useful.

"Okay, Pedrads, choose who goes first." Mr. Eaton says, pointing to them.

Uriah goes first, "I'm Uriah, as most of you know, and I have water and super speed."

He first sprays Eric in the face, then runs away and returns with Starbucks, which I steal from him.

I laugh, not regretting it. Zeke goes up next, "I'm Zeke, the better looking sibling, and I have wind and telekinesis." He moves all the papers from Mr. Eaton desk to the floor with a gust of wind, and then moves them back to place with his mind.

He gets some claps, making me thing that there are some fans of his. "Okay, thank you, now, Christina."

She walks up front, smiling, "I'm Christina, and I have electricity and ice."

She zaps Will, making his hair stand up, and then throws a snowball at his face. I hold back a laugh, watching him wipe himself off.

"Great... Marlene?"

She walks up front, "Marlene, and I have invisibility and Earth." She turns invisible, and reappears next to Uriah, making him scream. Everybody laughs, and she apologizes, giving him a rose.

"That was... amazing. Shauna?"

She grins, "I'm Shauna, and I have stretching abilities."

She reaches across the room, and grabs Peters pencil from his desk, then sits immediately back down.

"Great, Will?"

He walks up front, "I am Will, I have super intelligence, and I have ice like my lovely girlfriend." He throws a snowball back at her.

I smirk, those two are so cute together.

"Thank you, Lynn has mind reading and hates people, so I won't make her come up. Can I have my son?" Mr. Eaton asks.

A fairly ripped guy, with deep blue eyes and a perfectly chiseled jaw steps forward, literally getting sighs from some girls.

"Hey, I'm Four, and I used to have the most powers at this school. I have super strength, super speed, healing, and Earth powers." He doesn't bother to demonstrate, he just sits back down.

"Now, ladies and gentlemen, one I have been waiting for, Six Prior herself!"

People freak out, and I slowly go to the front, taking off my glasses.

The looks on everyone faces are priceless, "I'm Six, as you all should know, and if you don't know, my powers are fire, ice, telekinesis, shape shifting, teleportation, and mind manipulation, so basically I can do mind control, alteration of memories, make you see something that is not there, or mind communication."

I hold out both hands, snow in one and fire in the other. I throw the snow at Four, just for shits and giggles, and ignore his glare.

"Telekinesis and fire combine, so I can also do this." I explain holding out my hand. I create a normal flame, and I manipulate it so it creates a flower.

There are gasps and wonders, even though everybody has heard what I'm able to do.

I focus for a second, and let my body transform into a cat. I catch everybody off guard, getting a few laughs. It always my favorite form, because if you look at my eyes you can tell who I am.

Everbody gawks again, amazed. I transform back, and breath out. It always takes a second to steady myself in a different form. 

"Mr. Eaton, do you need anything?" I ask, turning to him.

"Can you go get the donuts from the teachers lounge before Tori steals them all?" He asks, chuckling.

I smirk, "Of course."

I think of the destination, and close my eyes, immediately moved. I look around, spotting the box of donuts on a table, surrounded by teachers

I grab it quickly, and go back to the classroom, holding out the donuts.

Mr. Eaton cheers, opening it up. I take one for myself, and I control Four while taking a bite. 

I link our minds, then make him get up and start doing the hokey pokey. I get a few good laughs, all the while confusing the hell out of him. 

Finally, I let him sit down, and he has a hilarious 'WTF' expression on his face. People cheer, which is honestly ridiculous because I am just a person.

Mr. Eaton grins, "Thank you so much Six, it is and honor to have you here at Divergent High."
