What happened thereafter, I still can't tell whether I regret or love what I did.

David looks up at me, beaming, "It seems, after seventeen years of hard work, I've finally achieved my goal."

I begin steaming, this is it. I can't do this anymore. I look into David's eyes, "Jesus Christ, you are so sick! I can't believe you have been doing this shit for so long, and I didn't say anything!"

He look back at me, "Excuse me?"

I clench my jaw, "Oh, fuck you David. And fuck this mission."

I use telekinesis, tearing all of the prosthetics on my body, off in seconds.

David takes in a breath, grabbing his phone from his pocket. "Beatrice Prior."

I look down, and before his fingers can touch the metal, I draw the phone to my hand and crush it into pieces.

Although it's difficult, with a flick of my hand all of the cell doors unlock and the straps come off of my classmates.

"You don't know what you've just done!" He yells, lunging at me. I scream lighting my hands on fire, and subsequently, his coat. He begins screaming, throwing it off. Peter is able to slip out with the assistance of Cara before David comes back to my attention.

Everybody runs out of the room, frantic. With a turn of my foot I dart out towards them , David following closely behind.

"You won't get that far!" He screeches, lunging at me. I let out a cry as he grabs onto my ankles, pulling me to the ground. His weight hold me to the ground as he yells, "Beatrice, you pathetic piece of shit! You have just demolished my plans! Years of research, for nothing!"

I struggle to move, screaming. He punches my head, making another whimper escape from my mouth.

"Get the fuck off of me!" I scream, wiggling out from under him. He curses, running as I sprint for the exit.

As soon as I pass through the boundary I smash a button, making the door shut before David can grab me.

It's clear now what I have to do. My feet lead me in the direction of the others, the hundreds of adults and children being pumped full of drugs at this very moment. I slow down for just a moment, clearing my mind, and teleport into the room. They all let out cries as I appear, utterly confused. I breath, focusing, and within seconds am able to free up  everyone

"Everybody, run!" I scream, as bodies begin pouring out towards me.

I stay back, until the last little girl is darting through the crowd, until running back out. When I exit this room, Matthew is just standing there, frantic.

"Six, what the hell did you just do?" He yells at me, grabbing my arm. I wince at the force, an old habit.

"He got a serum that works, Matthew. Peter seems like a zombie. I didn't have a choice." I run back towards the crowd, Matthew following my pace.

"You could have just told someone. We could have gotten backup and raided this place in maybe a week." He counters, glancing behind us.

"A week? How many people could have died or had their abilities taken away by then?" I scoff, rolling my eyes.

He shook his head, "But how many could we save?"

"Less than I am saving now."

He doesn't respond after that, and I'm glad for it. Nothing he would have said could have improved the situation.

I look around the thousand people running for their lives, and notice the workers jumping out of the way. A few dozen security guards attempt to shoot, but those with mind manipulation or telekinesis are able to stop them.

"Beatrice!" The voice is loud and clear, and I hear shots. Almost like instinct I send a telekinetic wave behind me, stopping the bullets. I spin on my heel, watching as an angered David darts towards me.

I summon ice, throwing it at his feet and causing him to stop in his tracks.  He falls forward, cracking his nose on the tiles. He crawls forward, fury in his eyes.

The awful images of him and my father force themselves through my head. "Stop David! Just stop!" I scream, throwing ice and fire at him over and over again, letting tears fall from my eyes.

He screams, smashing the ice around his feet and running back after me. I wince at his aggression, and back up. The pain and memories coursing through my brain prevent it from using mind manipulation.

He stairs at me with a predatory glare, grimacing. I shake my head, trying, but utterly failing, to focus. I just do what I know I can, push him pack with telekinesis and throw giant chunks of ice at him.

"Beatrice, stop! You can't win this!" He shouts, advancing towards me.

I stumble backwards, barely staying ahead of the limping man.

Pain and anger course through my body, blurring my vision and my thoughts. My legs speed up a bit, like a survival instinct.

I glance behind me to the crowd, watching as Matthew pushes everybody through the halls.

But that split second. That split second was a mistake. That moment where I just wanted to make sure everybody was okay, that was a mistake.

It takes a moment to register what happened, until the pain sears through my body.

I let out an agonizing scream, falling to the ground. My eyes scrunch shut, teeth clenching, ears ringing.

"Six!" I hear faintly, definitely coming from Matthew.

There are more screams as people realize I'm down. The footsteps make the ground rumble underneath me, and I feel the blood pour more from my abdomen.

"What did you do?" He screams, and I dare not look at what's happening.

I hear another gunshot, and let out a scream, holding my hands in front of me. The bullet stopped in mid-air, but as another sob racks my body it flies into my calf. My body fazes in and out as I try to teleport, but instead I look like a fading mess.

I let out another scream, and see Matthew lunge towards David. There's one more shot, but it doesn't hit me. I hear a thud, and everything goes black.
