I wake to a quiet hum, but I know it isn't a hospital. I open my eyes, met with a dimly lit, dark colored room.
"She's awake!" Someone whispers, I think Uriah.
I sit up, my body weak, "Is everyone okay?"
Christina laughs, "You just used so much energy you passed out, everyone else is fine."
I shake my head, my vision coming into focus. I'm in my room, and for some reason everybody is here.
"Did they figure out what happened?" I ask, my voice a bit scratchy.
Shauna nods, "Yes, somebody sabotaged the mechanisms, but they have no idea who."
There is one person I have in mind, but I haven't seen her since I was twelve.
"Great. Now can someone go get me some food?" My stomach grumbles, almost on cue.
Christina gets up and goes downstairs. I look at myself, making sure I'm still okay. My skin is pale, but that's probably because I need to gain all of my strength back. I tug at my hair, and sigh. It's still as white as snow.
"Where's my Mom?" I ask, letting the lock go.
"Four just went to call her I think. She was at work so I don't know when she will be here." Shauna says.
"Well, she knows why my hair is still like this. The last time I used so much energy was when I was trying too...well I'm not going to tell you, but my hair turned white for a night, and then went back to normal." I explain.
"I kind of like it. I mean, you've already slept for a day, so I don't know why it isn't back to normal, but I could make that work." Christina says, her fingers tugging at my hair.
I push her away, "What day is it anyways?"
"It's Wednesday. Are you still up for school and the party this weekend?" Uriah asks, smiling.
I roll my eyes, "Oh, yeah, thanks Six, for saving my life."
He laughs, smiling awkwardly, "Yeah, that. But still, it won't be fun without you!"
I laugh, "Fine, I'll make it."
I make everybody get out of my room, and crawl out of bed. I get a quick shower, and change into a black crop top, white shorts, and I put on some sandals. I hold up my wet, white hair. It actually doesn't look bad, I kind of like it. I blow dry my hair, and let it remain a little wavy. Then, I do some neutral make up, and slip on my leather jacket.
I check the time, and it's already 4. I go downstairs, and everybody is sitting in the living room. My Mom is just walking in, and throws her purse on the couch.
"Oh! You're awake!" She exclaims, running over to me.
She stops before giving me a hug, and grab a lock of my hair, "It should have gone back to normal already."
I knock her hand away, "I know. I wouldn't care if it stayed, but why is it like this?"
She sits on the recliner, and I sit on top of Four.
"Okay, the last time this happened, you used so much of your power that your body took energy from everything, which took away the pigment of your hair. It should have gone back to normal by now, but I guess you will just have to deal with white hair until it goes away." She explains.
Four whispers in my ear, "I think it's kind of sexy."
I laugh, "Well this is only a problem for Christina, she is the one doing my hair."
Chris shrugs, "I like it, I can make that work."
"You kids need to get home to your parents, don't you think?" Mom interrupts.
Christina shrugs, "My Mom doesn't care, as long as I tell her where I am."
Will looks at the time, "I have curfew at eleven, so I have a few hours."
"We're good!" Uriah says, counting for him and Zeke.
The others agree, so they can all stay longer. Four spreads his legs across the couch, kicking off Uriah and Marlene, and I lay on him.
Christina smiles, "You guys are like, the cutest, scariest couple in the world."
I laugh, and roll my eyes, "Yeah, sure. What's for dinner?"
Mom smiles at me, "Is all you want food?"
"Have you met me?" I joke.
She laughs, "What do you and your friends want for dinner?"
"Pizza!" The Pedrads and I scream.
Mom seems taken aback, because of how loud we are, but nods, "I'll order some, in the meantime, please don't kill each other!"
I grab the remote before anyone else can, and turn on America's Next Top Model. The guys groan, and Four tries to take the remote from me.
I use my telekinesis to hold it above his reach, but Zeke tries to pull it back. I glare into his eyes, my own on fire, and he let's go.
"Can't we at least watch something we will all like?" Uriah whines.
I sigh, "Fine, but I am still picking. How about The Notebook?"
"No."
"50 First Dates?"
"No."
"Forrest Gump?"
"Eh, no."
I scream in frustration, "Then what do you want to watch?"
Tobias offers, "How about Avengers?"
I nod, "I'm fine with that, any objections? I'm not asking you Uriah."
Everyone agrees, so I turn it on. I love my friends, but sometimes they are just a pain in the ass.
