I finished off my day at school and headed home. I tried to forget about this Brooklyn boy I had encountered and decided to text Rye. Rye is my best friend ever since pre-school. I'd force him to play barbies and he'd force me to play cars. Our friendship grew quickly from then. As children we never separated, we did everything together and in some ways we still do.
I flung my shoes off and trampled up the stairs, the footsteps echoing off the thin walls. I told Rye to come over and within 5 minutes there was a knock at my door.
I let rye in and we both fell onto my bed, we started talking about classes we had and then Rye started talking about Gina, he hated her as much as I did. I didn't say anything until Brook's name was mentioned.
'Apparently Gina has a liking for the new boy Brook because apparently he can sing'

I sighed and Rye noticed unfortunately.

'What's wrong?' he looked into my eyes and I stared back into his hazel brown ones.

'Brooklyn, he is such a sweet boy, it seems like there isn't a bad bone in his body. Gina on the other hand, is there a good bone in her? He needs someone who will treat him well, not someone who will use him and then tell him it's over.'

'Stop, stop right there' Rye abruptly told me, with a slight smirk.

'Wh-what'

'You're catching feelings, DONT EVEN DENY IT' Rye chuckled. My face glowed a red colour not sure if he was right, even if he was I barely knew him.

I huffed at him and stuck my tongue out at him in a playful way. The sun was going down so I threw my phone at Rye suggesting he followed me and help me take an instagram post. I was wearing a black dress, a comfy-ish one and it blended in with scenery giving it an edgy look.
