**Mumbai International Airport**

Picking up his luggage from the carousel he exited the airport's threshold. He looked around only to realise that his car wasn't here till now. "What the hell." He grimaced "Nyonika knew I was coming back and still she hadn't sent anyone to pick me up. God this woman"

As it is his mood was not that great and now he had to take a cab as his ride. "Wonderful. What an amazing welcome"

Could he hate coming back any more?

Not that he has any issue with Mumbai which was his home it's just somehow his heart wasn't home yet.

No points for guessing the reason why he was feeling like that.

Of course, he was back however he left his heart in Mangalore only where he went to attend a musical workshop.

However back then he didn't know that his life would change in such a short span of five weeks.

He was a changed person now.

And he was reminded of this fact as soon as he heard the voice of Alia.

..who happens to be his current girlfriend.

"MANIK"

He could see how elated she was to see him. However, that only made him feel bad. And to make the matter worse he realised why his chauffeur wasn't there to pick him up.

It's not because Nyonika forgot that he was coming back but it's because Alia Alia personally came to receive him from the airport.

Alia ran towards Manik and literally jumped on him."Welcome back, baby."
Alia hugged him without even caring about anything or anyone. "God I missed you so much.."

However, her reaction made Manik conscious. "Alia.."Manik tried to speak but she didn't let him speak "I love you so much baby..so much.." saying this Alia raised her face so that she could kiss him.

Her action made him uncomfortable as he looked around only to find everyone gawking at him only with a disapproving look on their faces. Alia..we are at a public place.."

But his words had no effect on her. "So.." she leaned in further to give him a kiss on his lips. However, before she could do so he took several steps back holding her from shoulder creating space between them. "..so I am trying to behave Alia."

His action shocked her like anything. "Baby what are you doing and since when you started to care about what people might or might not say.."Alia was shocked again.

Alia's question halted Manik in his track as someone's words took over his mind out of nowhere.

"It's never too late to start a new habit right..and sometimes we should think about other people too.."

Clicking her fingers Alia snapped Manik out of his reverie. "..where are you lost Manik."

Keeping a check over his emotions he shook his head to get those thoughts out of his mind for a while so that he could concentrate at the present moment. "I am right here.."

Alia was worried now. "Are you okay baby.
You are scaring me now."

He was anything but okay however he didn't want to hurt her by stating the truth as it wasn't the correct time neither he wanted to worry her by lying to her. So he chose to say something that was actually true. "I am just tired, Alia. I simply want to  go home and sleep for some time."

"But what about Fab5 Manik. They all are waiting for you at my place to welcome you back." saying this Alia once again tried to put her hands around his neck but Manik caught her hands before she could do that.

"I will meet them tomorrow Alia..right now I am not feeling well..in fact, you also go home. I will take a cab from here.."this time Alia scowled but not at his actions but at his words."What nonsense are you talking Manik? Why will you take a cab when I am here. I will drop you home.Come."

"Alia..it's okay..you don't.." before Manik could say anything more this time Alia cut him in. "Manik Malhotra in case you are forgetting before being your girlfriend I also happen to be your best friend so I am using my authority and ordering you that you will come with me and I will drop you home and that's final.."

Alia's words made Manik smile. "Aye-Aye Captain.." which made Alia smile too. "Come on let's go.." saying this Alia held his hand and they both reached the parking spot and after keeping his luggage they both got into the car and drove away.

Though Alia knew that Manik Malhotra had returned but somehow deep down in her heart she knew that this wasn't her boyfriend Manik.

...but this was someone else altogether...

...who was a different person altogether.

But how much different...

...only that was left to be seen.
