"Aiyoo..Yeh sab hamesha mere sath hi kyu hota hai.."Nandini slapped her forehead as she shook her head in annoyance. Looking up she continued "Aiyappa..aapko koi aur nahi mila apart from me iss situation me dalne ke liye.."

"Here comes Aiyappa again.."she turned around only to find Manik scowling at her. "..tum seriously har baat ke liye apne Aiyappa ko aise tang karna kab band karogi.."

"Toh main aur kya Karu.."Nandini snapped right at him. "..ab aisi situation me woh hamesha mujhe dalate hai toh aur mai kya kahu.."

"Excuse me.."Manik raised his eyebrows. "Sirf Tumhe ka kya matlab.."he snorted. "..tum akele nahi phasti ho..HUM..phaste hai.."Manik corrected her "woh bhi tumhari wajah se.."

"Meri wajah se.."Nandini eyes widened in shock. "What do you mean by that.."she gritted her teeth. "..tum kaha chahtey ho ki yeh sab meri wajah se hua hai.."

"Aur nahi toh kya..meri wajah se hua hai.."Manik snapped right back at her. "..hamesha we get into trouble because of you..even today all this is happening because of your stubbornness."

"How dare you accuse me for all this.."she yelled at him."if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have got lost in this jungle at first place.."

"Oh hello madam..I think you are forgetting one thing.."Manik cut her off "..agar tum uss bus se nahi utarti and would have waited patiently toh yeh sab nahi hota to begin with"

"That bus broke down..toh usme bhi meri fault nikaloge.."She shook her head in disbelief.

"Sirf bus broke na..tum toh thik thi na..kya zarurat thi Tumhe apni navigation skills test karne ki.."Manik questioned angrily.

"Toh aur kya karti..that bus was already late..uske upar se it broke down..I didn't wanted to waste time kyunki sab pareshan hote toh that's why I thought ki.."before she could finish Manik cut her in.

"Isiliye tumne socha ki Mumbai akele hi nikal parte hai..woh bhi paidal right.."Nandini looked away as she was too embarrassed when Manik stated the fact. "And what did you said ki you were getting late..toh ab kaun sa on time ho tum..in fact we both are late..kyunki hum iss jungle me phase hue hai..from past three hours.."

"Agar iss time hum waha hote toh jyada better hota kyunki ab tak toh bus thik bhi ho gai hogi..and within 20-25 minutes hum Mumbai bhi pahuch jate but nahi..aapko toh LADY VASCO DE GAMA..banane ka bara shauk chara tha na..fark sirf itna hai ki Mumbai pahuchne ki jagah hum iss jungle me bhatak rahe hai..Awesome work Miss Murthy."Manik clapped dramatically for her.

"Mujhe laga.."Nandini tried to speak but Manik cut him off again "oh please Nandini..don't start again."His words angered her now. "Manik will you stop it..you are equally at fault..
Agar tumne meri baat sunli hoti aur by highway chalti toh we would have still got some help and reached Mumbai by now..but nahi..tumhe short cut lena tha..it's because of you too that we are lost in this jungle..so please stop blaming me for everything."

This time Manik was about to say something when Nandini cut him off "..aur kisne bola tha tumhe mere saath aane ko..did I ask you to come with me..nahi na..toh phir..why are you blaming me for all this jabki tumhari bhi utni galati thi.."

Her words were more than enough to fan the flames of his rage."Of course meri hi galati hai Miss Nandini Murthy.."he held her shoulders and pulled her closer "..because unlike you mai apno ka sath itni aasani se nahi chodta..and most importantly unlike you I don't look for ways to stay away from you.."

"Manik.."she tried to speak when finally Manik spoke the words out loud "Nandini..don't I have any importance in your life that you keep finding ways to stay away from me.."

His words silenced her. "Bolo na Nandini..all the moment that we spent together hold no relevance for you at all.."

"Why do you keep pushing me away Nandini.."

"Don't you want me.."

"..at all.."

Nandini closed her eyes and sighed which frustrated him even more. "Speak up for God sake..Nandini..what do you want.."

"Manik..I need time.."she finally opened her eyes to look at him. "..in fact we both do.."

"Aur kitna time Nandini.."Manik left her as he said it through his gritted teeth. "..can't you see what toll it's taking on me.."

"Do you think it's easy for me Manik.."Nandini couldn't held it back anymore. "..you are my first love Manik Malhotra..do you think it's easy for me to stay away from you.."

"You are not the only one who is having a tough time...I am going through the same Manik.."

"Then what's the holdup Nandini."Manik pulled her closer once again. "Why can't we be together when we both want the same thing.."

"Just like you and Alia felt seven years ago.."her words were like a cold water thrown on his face. "You would have said the same thing to her as well didn't you.."

"What are you saying Nandini..where did Alia came between us.."Manik scowled.

"Exactly my point Manik.."Nandini stepped back from him without breaking eye contact with him "..I came between you and Alia.."

"Nandini.."Manik covered the distance between them in a second and cupped her face "What you and I share is way more deeper than what I shared with Alia..and you know that too..don't you."

"I do Manik.."Nandini nodded her head. "..but I don't want to do anything which we both would regret later.."

"What do you mean.."Manik questioned as he was simply not able to understand what her words truly meant.

"Manik I want us to work..trust me..I do..but.."she stopped abruptly which confused him even more."..but what.."

"..but I am scared Manik.."Nandini finally uttered those words out "..I am scared that we are going too fast.."

"Too fast...matlab.."he shook his head to which Nandini replied."Manik..can't you see this.."

"See what.."Manik was about to loose his patience when finally she answered his questions.

"Manik...either we are after each other's neck.."

"..or.."

"..either we are so close that.."she closed her eyes when he looked at her.

"..we just get overboard.."

Sighing she finally managed to open her eyes only to find her looking back at her.

"I think we should get to know each other first.."

"..we need time Manik.."

"..and once we cross that bridge maybe then we will find the answer to the question of whether we are meant to be or not.."

Nandini looked at him expectantly as she waited for his answer.

Manik continued to look at her but he didn't say a word which really scaring her "Manik please say something...please.."

And the next moment she got what she wanted..

...an answer from Manik...

..but..

...not in a way that she expected it to be.
