Sometimes in order to make sure that everything goes perfect one has to personally get involved in order to make sure that everything goes as per plan.
That's why here she was.....standing in front of her grandchild's room who was currently on hunger strike.
Knocking the door she commanded.
"Nandu khana kha le.."However, instead of opening it her grandchild simply replied."Mujhe bhook nahi hai Amms.."
It seems the fruit hasn't fallen too far from the tree which made her smirk."Hunger Strike haan--Good trick Nandu--but unfortunately nothing is going to work. Didn't you heard Trilok..this Fusion Concert is important for you.."
But before she could say finish her sentence Nandini opened the door and stepped out only to remind her of something extremely crucial that Kishori very conveniently skipped in her statement "..that's because you asked him to say so..and knowing Pandit Ji he will never disobey you."
Instead of arguing over it Kishori simply went ahead with the truth as she stepped inside her room and sat on her bed "So what else am I supposed to do other than that. You are too stubborn for your own good..why don't you realise this Nandini--that this Fusion Concert will help you to become a better singer...don't you want that Nandu"
Nandini was no fool. Of course, she knew exactly what was cooking insider her grandmother's head. Keeping her tone in check so that she didn't offend her Amms in any way possible Nandini replied."Of course, I do Amms..but it just that I am not ready..and you are sort of forcing me into this..don't you think.."
Folding her arms across her chest Kishori asked "Tell me something very honestly Nandini if this Fusion Concert wasn't in SPACE would you've reacted in the same way as you are reacting now"
Kishori's words stopped Nandini in her track. "What do you mean Amms.."
"Manik Malhotra--that's what I mean Nandini.."Nandini's eyes widened in horror as she realised what her Amms was referring to. "You are doing all this because of him na--as you don't want to be anywhere near him--because you know that you won't be able to control yourself or your emotions if he is around."
"What nonsense Amms.." though Nandini tried her best to sound offended of course she failed miserably in her attempt. "..I don't know what you are talking about."
But somehow today even Kishori wasn't in a mood to spare her."Oh you know exactly what I mean Nandu--your actions are all indicating about that only--that you are scared that you won't be able to get a grip over yourself if he is too close to you..correct me if I am wrong Nandu--but it's quite evident that you are smitten by Manik"
"It's nothing like that Amms."Nandini tried to defend herself but couldn't rather she looked anywhere but at Kishori as she simply didn't have guts to face her grandmother who caught her lie so easily.
"Then what is it Nandu..please enlighten me then.." though Nandini continued to look anywhere Kishori however she could constantly feel the heated gaze of her grandmother on her which only made her speechless.
Getting no answer from her Kishori questioned her again. "Come on Nandu...I am waiting.." When once again Nandini couldn't find a proper response that's when Kishori got up from the bed and stood in front of her.
"Nandini..aankhen band kar lene se Sachai nahi Badal jati hai.." she caressed Nandini's hair and continued. "I know that you want to say anything that would falsify my statement but deep down in your heart even you know that whatever I am saying it isn't wrong."
Cupping her face Kishori planted a kiss on her forehead. "Nandu--life is all about uncertainties and taking risks. Until and unless you take risk how would you gain bigger..and even if you lose than to you will gain experience that will only help you to deal way more difficult situations that life might present before you."
"I know you are worried..but I also know that when you will come back you will thank me for forcing you to take this opportunity.."Nandini finally looked up and said. "I highly doubt that Amms.."
"Mark my words Kanna..that day will come soon."Kishori smiled as she caressed her hairs once again.
"So that means I have to go to Mumbai."Nandini shook her head. "..for this FUSION CONCERT."
"Is that even a question Nandu--of course you are going there..but just remember one thing that no matter what happens you will only listen to what your heart says..and you have my words..victory will be yours..only yours"Kishori replied.
"How can you be so sure about me Amms..how do you know I won't mess up things..do you really think that I am strong enough to handle any situation.."Nandini's question only made Amms smile even more. "I don't think so Kanaa...I know so.."
Nandini frowned at her answer. "But how.."
"Call it your grandmother's superpowers..if you want to.." she winked making Nandini giggle. "...or call it to experience Kanna.."
Nandini was about to say something when Kishori spoke "if we are done with this discussion can we please go and eat..you know na...I don't eat without you."
"In that case let's go.."Nandini took Kishori's hand and said "..I don't want you to pass out on me before I leave for Mumbai..so after you Mam.." she gestured Kishori to take the first step."After you Amms.."
Kishori simply nodded but her hold on Nandini's hand even tighter than before. "Let go then.."
..and the very next moment they both left to have their dinner together and to discuss the various possible scenario that they both knew life was about to throw in their direction.
