Mangalore.

Gurukul.

The night has just fallen but in Gurukul, the lights were about to go out as students were heading back to their rooms after dinner.
All the faculty members too went back to their respective rooms except for one...

...Trilok.

He was not only one of the most renowned and respected musician of this country but also a core part of Gurukul's faculty. Being an ex alumnus of this academy he knew and understood the rules of Gurukul more than anyone else.

Being trained by Guruma herself he knew how strict the rules of Gurukul were. He has always been very disciplined and has always followed the instructions of Kishori Murthy (Guruma) blindly because nobody understood it better than him that the strict rules though were very difficult to follow but they were also very important to bring discipline into the life of a musician. If it wasn't for Kishori he had no idea exactly what his life would have ended up being.

He had never questioned her or her decisions. However, tonight the case was totally different because for the first time he had no clue as to why and how can Kishori take such a harsh decision that was related to her own granddaughter this time.

Nandini.

His Guruma's pampered granddaughter and his very first disciple.

Yes, he was the one who trained Nandini in music and he was not only excessively proud of her as a teacher but was too overprotective as an elder brother as well.

He was simply averse to any idea that could make her worry. However, today he himself became the reason for her worry for which he was hating himself.

Though whatever he was doing it was as per his Guruma's instructions deep down he didn't want any trouble for Nandini and that's why for the very first time he went to request Kishori to reconsider her decision.

"

Are you sure about this Guruma, "Trilok asked once again while only made Kishori smile even wider as she replied, "Trilok my answer will be the same which was zillion times before and it's not going to change even if you ask me zillion times more and I am not getting one thing why are you being so paranoid about the whole thing."

Since he had never hidden anything from her so he chose to voice his worry out in front of her."I am sorry Guruma..it's just that I am very apprehensive about this concept of entire Fusion Concert as it doesn't seem to be a great idea to me."

Folding her arms across her chest she smirked "And let me guess the reason behind all this is NANDINI. Am I right Trilok."

His eyes met hers and he knew instantly that it was of no use to hide anything from her anymore. He simply nodded his assent. Kishori smiled "You know Trilok the way you behave sometimes it makes me wonder whether Nandini is my grandchild or yours. Aren't you too overprotective of her? In fact
I am 100% sure Nandini is the reason why we are having this discussion at first place right."

He looked down and nodded once again.
"You and your favourite student--both are simply impossible at times" she shook her head in annoyance.

Kishori sat on her chair as he stood in silence in front of her. It made her reminisce of the time when Trilok was just another student of Gurukul. Every time he did something wrong he silently accepted any punishment that Kishori had for him irrespective how harsh it was.
