~ t h i r d  p e r s o n  p o v ~

"nana, look at that teddy bear!" y/n tugged on her grandma's skirt, pointing to the teddy bear on display in a storefront window. she looked down at her and smiled. grabbing y/n's hand she brought her into the local toy store and the first thing that was there when they both walked into the shop was the teddy bear.

"can we get it nana?" y/n asked pointing to the stand with the fluffy teddy bears. the teddy bear she wanted was grey with a white snout, a red bow tie, and holding a red heart with both of his arms, while sitting. y/n's grandma looked at her with a huge smile and grabbed a teddy bear out of the several teddy bears from the stand. y/n was the happiest kid at that moment.

after the teddy bear was purchased, y/n walked home with her grandma with the biggest smile plastered on her face. she hugged her teddy bear with her left arm and held her grandma's hand with her right hand. they walked home peacefully, without a care in the world.

that was one of the last good memories y/n had of her grandma.

there the four boys sat in the hospital waiting room, sitting still for once. jonah held is head in his hands, his hair messy and his eyes held no light. daniel was comforting jonah, patting his back and calming him down. he knew y/n and him are close and this would have the hardest impact on him. jack's eyes are open wide, staring at the ground, not moving a muscle. he slouched in the chair with his hands folded and legs spread out. corbyn's elbow rests on the right arm rest of the chair, he rests his chin in his hand and spaces out. they've sat like this for hours, just waiting for the doctor to deliver news about zach or y/n.

"family of y/n y/l/n and zach herron?" a nurse with a clipboard shouted out, none of the boys even noticed her walk into the waiting room. they immediately stood up, the nurse then motioned them to follow her and took an elevator up to the third floor of the hospital. after exiting the elevator they were led down a series of hallways to get to your room. the nurse opened up the door slowly, the door creaked revealing a fast asleep y/n and zach. they are hooked up to machines, they were side by side. a doctor was standing right in between the two beds,

a doctor then walked "they are both fine, just a few wounds and scratches. they both were unconscious at the car crash scene but are going to wake up in as little as thirty minutes to two hours," the doctor stated, everyone was nodding as she spoke, "if you want you can leave and we will call you when they awaken, or you can sta-" the nurse was interrupted by jonah, "we will stay here, thanks."

once jonah sat down next to y/n's bed, he examined all of the hits to her face, the scars, and the faded bruises. right away, a memory came to mind.

~ flashback ~

jonah searches through wal-mart to find the hardware section of the store. after finally finding the 'hardware aisle' jonah started to hear someone weeping from the aisle. every step he took closer to the hardware section the crying would get louder and louder.

once he reached the aisle, he quietly came up to a girl that stood up. she wiped her tears, but just began to cry even more, she hides her face and just walks away before he could even get a glimpse of her. jonah ran after the person, concerned for them.

jonah yells, "hey! come back here!" but she starts to run, but not enough to out run him. she gets slower and slower, her legs giving out on her. jonah catches up to her, grabs her hand making her turn around. once he sees her face he smiles, he thought she was beautiful when nobody else thought she was.
