I couldn't believe they didn't listen to me! I wanted them home with my mom, Delbert, and Amelia.

I told them to go back to my cabin and to not let anybody else see them (surprisingly they did listen then)...then I turned to Saytee, actually forgetting she was back there for a while. She looked really freaked out. I held my hands up, gesturing for her to keep calm.

"They're- uh...old friends." I halfway explained. She was quiet. I'm surprised she was so weirded out. Anybody and everybody would have seen odder sights.

"They're not so bad once you get used to them." I told her. She finally nodded. "Yes, they're interesting." She replied sheepishly. I saw her become less tense as she moved away from the rails.

We were both quiet for a while, so I looked back up at the sky. "So...are we on course?" She asked, and I looked over at her, careful not to stare for too long.

"It seems like it," I looked up again. "One successful day in space, check." I tried to sound joking and relaxed. I've never noticed how un-relaxed I really was until now. I'm a very different person than I was five years ago. All that schooling has turned me into an uppity kind of guy. I need to change that.

But Saytee giggled anyway. I liked her laugh, I have to admit it. I was just about to look at her and talk again, but something in the midst caught my eye. I went to the edge of the ship and stood on the rails, holding the ropes of the mast and leaning out as far as I could to get a better look.

A ship, and I couldn't see what flag it was flying...

"What is it?" She asked, walking to where I was standing and looking out as well. I jumped back down to her level, grabbing her arm and pulling her toward my room again.

"Saytee, I want you to stay here. Don't come out unless I come and get you. Understand?" I confirmed. I didn't want to risk her getting hurt if this was a pirate ship. But that was a worse case scenario, hopefully it's just merchants.

Saytee was confused, but she nodded anyway, watching me with her wide brown eyes. With that I went back on deck, locking the door from the outside, just in case Saytee is that type that doesn't follow orders well...
